Thanks Dawnie and how lovely that they thought to send a message to this thread. I have been following the thread on Facebook and they seem a lovely family. Shall be thinking of Julie and her family on Thursday.

It's good to have it confirmed that the support people receive in their time of need helps them in some small way, and that they have spoken of it to their families.

Nice that Julie's sister found time to thank folks for the messages etc, I hope she and the family will find comfort in the fact that Julie was well respected and loved by so many 'strangers' many of whom became friends


Rest in peace Julie, hope Thursday is just the way you would want it

It's 'our' Jules good bye tomorrow

I wondered who might be happy to start a monthly direct debit (to Cancer Reasearch UK) on this day?

I'm going to do this tomorrow in our friends name and also for all the lovely people we have lost

It's not much each month, but it will help...give what you can, .50p £1 etc

Will be thinking of Julie and all who love her at 1pm.

for emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things that I’d miss come tomorrow.
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity and all I’ve promised you,
Today your life on earth is past but here it’s starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last.
and since each day’s the same, there’s no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful, so trusting, so true.
Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn’t do.
And you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free.
So won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me?"

So if tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me, please know I’m in your heart.

I love that poem PH, thanks for putting it on here.

Thinking of Julie today and of her family, a hard day for them all to say goodbye to somebody so obviously loved by so many people. <3

So, our Jules with 'urns' ( or jugs as I used to call her) has gone :-(

How I miss talking with her.


Ive set up the direct debit to Cancer Research UK, today, at the very moment of her funeral....I will always remember her, and my bank statement will be a reminder of Jules each month

Gins....I didn't know Julie personally...........but i found her thread sooo inspirational, she touched my heart in more ways than you will ever know.

She had such a fighting spirit.

So sorry that you have lost a close friend.

Gins., i don't do Facebook so i don't quite understand.

I searched high and low for something that i thought appropriate for Julie's special day.

I found that poem.
