I've been told to "go away and let the people who know what they are doing get on with it".

It goes both ways. Some (new?) posters looking for Ancestors get annoyed, because they seem to think the responses are from GR, not from helpful members.

I do see replies that are snide and superior and cringe and what a newbie must think. And there is the petty bickering that makes me wonder just how adult the adults on here are.

Other things have kept me busy the last couple of weeks so I've barely been around. Truth is I haven't missed it anywhere near as much as I thought I would.

I'd like to know who told you to do that Scozz. That was totally unecessary by them.

It doesn't seem much fun on here these days. Try and have a joke and someone will get arsy about it. And I am certain that the person, or persons, has deliberately gone looking for an excuse to be offended. I can't say that I bother with General Chat too much. I glance but think twice about posting anything.

But that's just my opinion. This forum is the biggest reason I have kept a GR sub going. We've lost some good and experienced people this year because they've had enough and taken their sub money elsewhere.

Can we please just have some niceness for a change. There is enough conflict in the world without having it here too.

I've also had the same feeling as Gins ........................... ignored


There are 3 or 4 long threads where I feel comfortable, but find that I am quite often ignored when I comment on others.


Mind you, I've also been told that my posts are too long, and people can't be bothered reading them :-)
