If it wasn't so contentious, Rose would only have had about 10 lovey-dovey replies.

I am struggling to understand why so many put their bread in the freezer. Eating a sandwich would crack my dentures if bread was frozen :-( :-(

Mersey I have those senior moments too:-(. The Maghull method is to boil your eggs in the microwave and keep your bread in the coal bucket :-D

Mindyou bread, however it is stored, may be a thing of the past in this house... it may soon be 'bread and scrape' without the bread :-( or the scrape come to that lol.

This has been the most contentious thread I have ever contributed to :-( I think Rose specifically chose something that would polarise opinion. ;-)

Then off to do her tree and appears on all sorts of threads mentioning her bread thread. Just pure egotism :-) Boooo :-P

Just before I go I've seen your piece Joeva.

I did not know Hovis made crustless bread (have to tell Sainsbury about it).

I'm a pensioner-child so I may have to kick and scream on the shop floor if they don't get it in. They'd probably send for the men in the white coats and I may even be eating brown bread by the time they'd finished with me.

Blimey, Island. I was a Manager for ****ens 20 years ago. Stock rotation was not the best. We used to colour code bread - white was fresh, blue was fairly out of date. End of my pension probably:-( :-(

Could sell anything though, as we never had any competition. Usually in towns where nearest decent supermarket was in Ipswich or Southampton, 40 miles away :-D Blue has an excellent flavour and texture for jaffles, anyway. With furry strawberry jam, Yum :-D :-D

Don't use a bread bin now, for many years i used metal ones with the fold over door many times it wouldn't close down cos I tried to get too much in.

I buy now a small loaf on a wed when we do the weekly shop, and then on Sunday after dropping hubby off at church I g to Tesco and buy another small loaf . We still seem to waste bread tho and it goes in the bin.

Oh cant eat the long life bread as it causes him problems so we have to go with fresh baked that hasn't the nasties in it but then doesn't last as long

Hovis makes crustless bread, targeted at children.

'Invisible crust is created by gently baking the bread in specially designed tins at lower temperature, which ensures the surface does not very hot and so no crust forms'

Hovis claim that this method is unique and that crustless bread sold in other countries is just with the crust removed after baking.

I'm off for a coffee and jaffle now.

White and no other colour for the jaffle.

I may be healthy and put tuna and sliced tomato in with the butter and cheese!

Our local Sainsbury (in Durham you Sainsbury lot if you're reading) have stopped selling white Crusts Away I was told this week. Now I'll have to shop at Tesco!

I still like butter with everything!

I hope t one of the Sainsbury's staff is reading this BRING BACK CRUSTS AWAY.

I'm lazy Julia. However, saving breadcrumbs would be a waste of time on my part because I'm the only one who could eat them and I do not like crumbed things at all - prefer my fish, chicken and puddings etc without crumbs. Hubby has Coeliac disease so can't digest gluten at all.

Metal bins are best. If close-fitting, you can slice crusts off as well. But they must be colour coded with your decor. :-)

So who sells this crustless bread? not that I'd buy it I lubs brown with crusts :-D
