Joyce's 'stories' as you call them are not hyped up

If her threads disturb you as much as they seem to, leave them alone, she doesn't need your comments and inferences.

We all know many children die every day, and it's heartbreaking, my own daughter died and many others on the boards have suffered loss too It seems to be lucky this time that Chloe's Mum reacted quickly and Chloe will hopefully be ok.

Save your energy for caring for those children if that's your road in life, thanks for those you help in that way but leave Dutch alone

As Joyce is most likely in bed now I am sure she will not mind me adding this to the thread.Cloe HAS got meningitis,The rest of the family HAVE been given antibiotics,Rachel texts family and post on face book for friends,So she can spend all her time with Cloe She,is still dipping up and down at the moment so she is not out of the woods yet ,but in a better condition than she was,Doctors have told Rachel that she will be on the medication for about 3 weeks but should make a perfect recovery with no permanent damage,No mention of when she will be well enough to leave hospital as yet,
Positive thought for Cloe Sheila

Kay asking about the jab and Joyce saying yes she had it, doesn't mean a thing, Joyce was probably so tired and confused she didn't know what jab she meant. Why do you always have to be so pernickety Suzanne, we know you are supposed to be a nurse but it doesn't give you the right to interrogate people. If the thread bothers you, stay off it.

Just hope to hear Chloe will be on the mend very soon.

OK if it will help to return this thread to a possitive thoughts thread

The meningitis vaccine is about 85% effective against certain strains of bacteria. It does not protect against viral meningitis

Suzanne, Dutch was asking for "Postive thoughts"

she was not asking for medical so why ask for an exact diagnosis? are you a Doctor?

Hope Chloe gets better soon

Read right through this thread and you will see, Suzanne, that Joyce has spoken to a nurse at the hospital as well as repeated the text her granddaughter sent, so she only knows that much information.

With a bit of luck Joyce is sleeping now altho she doesn't always sleep well especially if/when she is fretting over her family so she won't be back with any more news yet a while. Her granddaughters are especially close to her and with her being so far away and not able to feel she can help, she worries so.

I wish people would not pressure Joyce or anyone posting on her behalf, it doesn't help and upsets Joyce and her hubby.

Let's hope Chloe gets better very soon with no ill effects, at least she is in the right place to get all the help she needs, just hope the rest of the family are ok.

Hi Joyce, so sorry to hear Chloe is poorly and I hope she makes a good recovery. Not the best timing for any illness especially for a bridesmaid but hope things work out ok.

I can understand Rachel texting you, you can't misunderstand when it's written down for you but I know when you get stressed you would get the wrong end of the stick with a phonecall plus Rachel can text while she is sitting with Chloe or where ever she is, but not easy to make a call in front of others or the poorly person.

Poor you, your luck doesn't get any better does it?

Take care and will try and talk with you soon, before you leave home

love to you and yours

You are correct Lynda all close contacts are offered antibiotic prophylaxis When my son had his meningococcal septicaemia the other kids were delighted as the rifampicin they were taking made there wees and in one fascinating case Snot !!! Orangey red. I did not take anything as I was 6 weeks pregnant and unwilling to take a potential teratogen. Hope your gr granddaughter gets better soon Dutch
