Having been diagnosed, chances are she is in the very best place and getting the treatment she needs quickly.

Where is she in hosp? UK or Holland? Will you be able to visit if ts UK? hope so

Hope she gets swift and good treatment and starts to recover soon

which type does she have? viral meningitis or bacterial meningitis?

Are you sure that it IS Meningitis, and not SUSPECTED Meningitis Dutch? As someone who has had family & friends affected by this virus, if the doctors are unsure of what a virus is, they sometimes treat for Meningitis so as to get treatment started if it turns out to be it.

If the rest of the family had a virus, perhaps that's what Chloe has, and I would of thought if it is Meningitis, surely your Grandaughter wouldn't just text you to tell you that?

Meningitis, although a serious virus can be successfully treated if caught early enough, and can lead to a quick recovery. there are also different strains of it, and you can be on the mend quickly.

I would telephone your Grandaughter so you know exactly what the situation is, text is not a way to communicate in a situation like this, I would suggest.

Thank you for the update, even more positive thoughts coming your way.
l can understand why Rach sent a text rather than phone....she knows how upset you get and she would'nt have wanted to hear you, she has enough on her plate right now.

Take care Dutch.

Thinking of Chloe Joyce that she will soon recover. At least they seem to have caught it quickly poor little girl. She will be so disappointed if she misses the wedding too. Bless her.

From my experience of meningitis, which I'm sad to say is too much, close family/friends, who have been in contact with the patient are offered anti biotics.
