*$parkling $andie* Report 5 Aug 2012 00:46

Dizzi~~~

You asked a perfectly sensible question.

Which had some positive replies,
I'm sorry for your thread that it turned the way it did..some people even spell their name backwards..like their minds.

I'll probably be RR'd for that ,but to turn the thread around like that really annoys me.

I hope you don't suffer with any glare.. I don't , thankfully.

Sandie.

T he reason I said only one reply? yes with a question mark is because you had MORE than one reply at that point , but yes only one from someone with epilepsy so assumed you meant that you wanted replies from epileptics .. and as for your last comment about disabled ,, no idea what the hell you are on about mind you I rarely do .

PP it is my opinion that people are not happy about .. it is just too ridiculous to blame this site when I do not doubt they visit other sites with a white background

Porkie_Pie Report 5 Aug 2012 00:13

aivlyS, you may think that the problem has been blown out of proportion but thats your opinion,

I am open to debate on most threads but my input is my opinion

every one has an opinion and we are all entitled to post our opinion

you appear to want your views heard, But are not happy to allow others to air their views and i have noticed before that you tent to mainly criticise when you comment on a thread rather than trying to give a positive comment

your comment that was RR'd was justified for the reason stated above IMHO although i never RR'd it i did think about it but it had gone before i had decided so will never no if i would have

aivlyS, Meaning what?

aivlyS

aivlyS Report 5 Aug 2012 00:07

You have to wonder about someone that tries to turn things into something they are not ..

TheBlackKnight

TheBlackKnight Report 5 Aug 2012 00:00

Well my mistake was saying I have epilepsy & the glare is effecting me...I didnt realise I needed to provide medical evidence.

EDIT you have to wonder about the mentality of someone who thinks epilepsy is something to "LOL" about.

Is this the bash Dizzi thread......she asked a question which seemed perfectly reasonable to me....and to which I contributed. Where is the anger coming from, I thought we prided ourselves at having a friendly helpful chat thread where we are free to post on most subjects without fear of being slated. I always stay away from threads that get out of hand, but it beggars belief that some people can be so cutting towards a fellow member who when all said and done has not committed any crime!!

aivlyS Report 4 Aug 2012 23:48

Well done to the reporter . .. does it feel good to pretend this is your site and you are running it ?

aivlyS

aivlyS Report 4 Aug 2012 23:45

Absolutely correct Mildred .. this is just think the worst scenario possible .. people sitting at their comps having fits I seriously doubt it ... if people are concerned do as Genes is asking send the feedback and give them a break ..

Everybody should take rest breaks from staring at a pc screen. More so if the person does suffer health difficulties of any kind.

I would imagine as an epileptic one would be encouraged use a filter screen for the wide variety of site which could affect them. After all, many sites use flashing ads which could also cause problems.

*$parkling $andie* Report 4 Aug 2012 23:40

FGS... another Saturday night ,and it not the time for fighting :-|

Dizzi asked a simply question.

Peeps responded differently, some saying how the screen affected them or not,
some giving technical details ..which are always helpful, and informative....some giving different opinions , but that's life

Please don't get in an argument about it . Debate ..yes !. Negative argument no thanks.

Aivlys errrm Yes it is so I'm taking the recommended breaks- I can't think how to explain it more simply for you??

Indeed Roy apologies for that

aivlyS

aivlyS Report 4 Aug 2012 23:11

Oh so it is not affecting you then as you originally said it was ??

TheBlackKnight

TheBlackKnight Report 4 Aug 2012 23:08

Liquid crystal screens

Liquid crystal display (LCD), light-emitting diode (LED) and thin-film transistor (TFT-LCD) screens all use liquid crystals to create a picture. They are all thin and have a flat screen.

Liquid crystal screens don’t flicker and are far less likely to trigger a seizure than CRT screens. However, the risk of having a seizure is not removed entirely, because they are brighter and have more contrasting colours than CRT screens. Contrasting colours increase the risk of seizures.

I take the recommended breaks...

5EXY, Then if it was meant for a specific member may be it would be better to have addressed it to that member

Well you're stalking me pmsl

& that's making me nauseous but the glare from the screen is triggering some symtoms, however, unlike some I will not go into detail- as you have such an interest I'd recommend the Epilepsy UK site, at least if you read about it you'll know what you're talking about...for a change :-D

EDIT- you're comments are very interesting Roy- I just keep being asked the same question by the same person so give the same answer.
