Peter Wilson won the skeet...........shotgun clay pigeon.
but sadly so far,no UK shooter did well in any other shooting event!
possibly thanks to our governments' ban on pistol shooting.

Don't know much about pistol shooting Bob,but do they not have clubs to train in?

Exciting day today lots of medal to be won.
With chances for gold for Mo Farah... the men's coxless four.... triathlete Helen Jenkins and Jessica Ennis hoping to complete the Hepthathlon with a win.

Watching the Triathlon at the moment.

Go GB!! :-D

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 4 Aug 2012 10:20

No, pistol shooting is totally banned. No clubs, nothing. Our teams have to go abroad to train, at their own expense.

Some sports are more equal than others. Yet we have allowed foreign comptitors to take part in a sport our own countrymen are denied.

Silly Sausage Report 4 Aug 2012 10:25

I cant believe how interested I have got in the games this time round, watched Victoria cycle for gold last night and cheered when she won, watched the swimming watched our Jessica but I also watched the 100000 miles run even though our girls wasnt placed what a race, :-D

Mauatthecoast Report 4 Aug 2012 11:22

Oh I didn't know that Eldrick.Do the same rules apply for rifle and pidgeon shoot as well. Just doesn't seem right at all, giving some countries an unfair advantage! :-|

I've always loved watching the Olympics Hayley but think having it staged in London, with the fabulous venues, probably gives it an edge this time around.

:-( Helen Jenkins came in fifth but what a grueling race...all winners in my eyes.

Jessica Ennis next ........no beep beep h*******k today that's for sure :-D

Mauatthecoast Report 4 Aug 2012 12:50

They certainly did :-).... and now the drama of Hunter and Purchase's sculls race (after a false start)....they got silver, but seeing them soo upset and disappointed at not getting gold they're in tears and I'm in tears for them :-(

Eldrick Report 4 Aug 2012 14:49

Mau, no, rifle and clay shooting are still begrudgingly allowed, just pistol shooting is banned here.

Sport for all - as long as it's politically correct and doesn't offend anyone.
