Rambling Report 1 Aug 2012 22:51

I think that's it Kay, it is the longer you look at it the worse it gets and for those who pop in and go again that's not such a problem, but if one is here a lot, and a lot of people are, whether that's because they chat a lot, or help a lot on the FA board, then it becomes very much a strain and the text seems to merge, especially so I imagine (though I haven't looked) if one were trying to wade through one of the long posts that you get where a 'searcher' details the whole family without spaces. :-0

As you say other sites manage the colour contrasts & text ok, to suit both those with good and poor eyesight.

Would agree that it is too bright but other than that no problem.

As i don't have a tree on here can't comment on that subject.

Have posted a thread about the previous change........nothing changes.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 1 Aug 2012 23:03

Ive just been in and toned my screen colouring down a tad,,,,,glare has gone and its looking much better........sort of a very pale -ish green.grey,,,,,
and text is a little better to read,,,,,,,

plus it has made very little difference if any to other sites in contrast.....

perhaps having a little fiddle about can solve a few troubles...till GR can get a good combination sorted,,,,,,,

;-) ;-)

Joy Report 1 Aug 2012 23:03

Too white and bright definitely.

In feedback about the beta version, I asked them to look at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php
I wonder if they did.

Kay???? Report 1 Aug 2012 23:13

Nah Joy,,,GR cant be seen to take influence from elsewhere or it may be seen as poaching good iideas,

Beige colourings backgrounds are easy reading with text on it,,,,,plus it can take most colours for a text contrast......this teal /greeny on here can be missed as it hasnt got enough umph to make it stand out,,,,,,,and its where most of the important bit about GR will be found ,,,,,like guidelines,,,!

Your right there Kay GR never listen and just do their own thing anyway regardless.

I'm absolutely shocked, this is the worst ever change. It looks horrid, morbid and plain boring.

Why are they always messing around with this sites appearence.

Wasting our breath. just got to accept this rubbish thats forced on us.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

It has taken all week to log and get on the GR site.

Many error messages, could not open PM's and then to put a crown on it. the GR board is not wearing clothes........starkers!

When I finally logged on successfully, I could not believe the new look.

Really glaring on the eyes.

Not a happy bunny.

And still getting error messages.

Take gentle care all
Best wishes
Elizabeth, EOS

Has anybody else noticed that the lower case w appears to be fainter or in a different sort of type from the other letters, or is it just a trick of my eyes/brain?

Every time a new look appears GR seems to reduce the size of the font. I think I complained last time. I dont want to keep increasing the size for this site, leaving it too big on other sites. :-(

Huia

Huia Report 3 Aug 2012 05:06

They seem to have fixed the w now. Yippee!!!

Huia

Huia Report 3 Aug 2012 22:35

No, it isnt fixed, the w is faint and a different shape again (wider?).

MR_MAGOO Report 3 Aug 2012 22:48

Just a suggestion......if you use a laptop you could tilt the screen away from you. It makes the screen a light blue (on mine anyway). :-)
