Lesley I havent seen any gardener yet, the man who was supposed to come last Monday was rebooked for tomorrow, and I've had to cancel a dental appt to make time for him, so if he doesnt turn up I will be ... a trifle upset.

The way things are at the moment, it looks like I will have to keep the appt with the first gardener on 11th Aug, and let the new bloke start next month. Time just rushes by and I'd hoped the new bloke would start this week so I could cancel the other gardener who is leaving anyway but he's lost interest and I'm no longer happy with his work. I'm starting to feel like the proverbial man with a dog who does his own barking ..... :-(

Hospital beds ..... oddly enough, I had a dream last night, where I was safely tucked up in a hospital bed when the small child of someone I know came to visit, only she should have been at home in her own bed. So I got up, took the child home, and returned to my hospital bed - to find that there was another patient cosily esconced where I should have been, and that all my belongings had been packed up by the ward staff, and lost. I wonder what the therapists would make of that dream.

Not long until 9th August ..... we are all waiting. Impatiently :-D :-D

Susan I hope your dear offsporing enjoys her weekend in Wellington. But as it is Sunday here, I expect its almost Monday where you are and she will be home very soon.

Manuka honey is highly prized in the UK for its healing qualities. Its highly priced as well ;-) We also like the Tuesday Plantation products, I personally find tea tree cream very good.

well dears, good morning to you all.

What a very busy time I have had the Olympic village, such a jolly time, and so many GOLD medals.

It is a good job I have so many lace edged hankerchiefs, what with there being SO many tears to mop up.

I think our boys and girls have done very well, dear little Jessica, dear little Mo, and the rest of our team of winners.

I did have to ask dear Mo's wife to sit down and relax, as she is so very nearly with child, all that excitement and all that.....................

Back today to Stratford after church, Georgianna and Octavia are with me today, so if you see a trio of fine looking well bred ladies, you will know it is us.

Pat-trish-aaaaaah bring around the tuk-tuk dear, we are off very soon.

That Cherry is a card dears, she plays her music day and night, hence the cottonwool. Tutty tut.

I am just eating my brekkie :-D, Saturday's is toast and honey, yum.... I do the cereal thing during the week :-(...

Woken up to two gold medals for our rowers, hooray !!

My trip to the airport went without incident thankyou... Fruits partner will collect fruit tomorrow on her return - to a different provincial airport. We have four within an hours radius.

OH has gone off to work so I am on me tod for the day, Saturday means housework :-P :-P.....

I would like to thank you for your kindness regarding the hospital bed I am sorry to say we still don't have any need for it, 9th August will be the very latest when the bed will be occupied for the arrival of our 1st treasure. :-( :-D

Oh ye of little faith!

Did you really think I would desert you, the Games, the nation, the world?

Oh dear no. Our little jaunt is not to be until AFTER the Games are over. Tutty tut. As if I would leave my dear, dear friends wanting.

Our gels have done well today in the rowing, swimming, but alas not in the cycling. I was in the Vellodrome urging dear Christopher on, did you not see me? I was holding onto his saddle until he set orft. Such a bit lad!

Poor, poor Victoria got disqualified. Such a shame, that will teach them to get overexcited. Our dear shooting man also got a Gold. What a wonderful day we have had. And, some of our competitors actually sang the National Anthem. How proud I was of them all.

Well, now, our excursion have been booked, and we have paid the deposit, so tickety boo, we will be off as soon as the Games have finished. I may even send you a few quips while on my travels, such as 'How much does a Greek earn?'

Dear Trickey Woo will be going into kennels while we are away. I have engaged Mrs Berry to look after Pat-trish-aaaaah and Cherry, there is no reason why they should starve while I am living the high life.

Now, do you think a Panama is too masculine for me to wear on board?

Hello Susan *turns the CD up to top volume and the rafters are rockin'. Oh dear what is that banging on the walls. Oh - its the neighbours, hollering at me "turn it down". :-S

I have great misgivings about dear Petunia sailing on the Star White line or even the White Star line ...... A great uncle worked on one of the blue riband ships, cant remember now if it was the Mauritania or the Lusitania. I really think Petunia should just restrict herself to a cruise along the Thames, because if there is a Man Overboard situation she wont have far to swim to the riverbank.

hello Lesley, am so sorry to hear that Baby is keeping everyone waiting but .... sigh ..... they decide when they want to be born, so perhaps the little one is waiting until after the olympics, to get some peace and quiet :-D Do you have any other grandchildren?

Of course your daughter can keep the hospital bed warm for me, if she doesnt mind laying in it until some time next year ..... !! ;-) and it will probably be the only rest she gets.

Did you see the ladies pairs rowing dear. How glad I was that our Countires and Aus were all collecting their medals together. It bought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye.

Petunia, I hope your packing is coming along? At least on a ship there should be no weight restrictions for your portmanteau?? Do you know, I sailed into Southampton with my Mama and younger blister in 1962 :-D - and out again to come back down under. Apprently my Grandpapa got our arrival time wrong and we sat all day wainting for him to arrive from London :-|. I am not scarrred by that, in fact I have no memory of the whole trip at all, more is the pity.
I hope the onboard entertainment is to your liking, I have heard there are 'nightclubs' on these ships these days!!!

I have this afternoon, mowed our lawns, first time since late April... They are not growing in the winter climes, merely untidy - or they were. I had a chap cut my hedge on Monday. I am still getting over the shock of it all.... May I just say, thank gawd he is not a barber :-D.... I was not amused :-|..

Time to get my dinner into the oven. OH is going to be late and I shall not be waiting - far too hungry for that.

I am afraid your instructions are a little too late dear, I have just taken delivery of two CDs one by Colm Wilkinson he of the lovely voice, and John Owen Jones he of the lovely voice, also a book called The Help, from which the movie script for The Help was taken. An excellent film that, on a level with Roots, and if you havent seen either Roots, or The Help, I heartily recommend it. Must confess I squirmed in embarrassment at how badly the stolen people and their descendants were treated firstly by the slave traders and then by the WASPs. In The Help, I just loved the way Minnie got her revenge!!

I have just placed a new order, with that River company, for another four CDs which I shall play while the cat is away. I mean, play while you are away. Let me give you a clue : ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE .......... ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE ...... HEY JUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE !!!!! la la la la la la la, la la la la, HEY JUDE!

Good afternoon dear Friends,

Yesterday was chocka block full of sorting clothes, organising timetables and itineries and general getting very excited about our jolly holidays.

We are to travel to Southampton to catch our boat, makes it sound like the IOW ferry does it not? Then we are cruising around and about, such fun! I shall indeed look like a fashion plate from Merchant Ivory, I have stocked up on the cream linen, and of course sun bonnets.

I do not want to make you all pea-green dears, so will let you have little snippets of informatin, as and when.

Has that baby arrived dear Lesley? Did you try the curry?

Teresa dear, the beds are being pushed back to the relevant hospitals soonest, on the way, they will be collecting in tins to help out the needy.

Cherry dear, I am afraid my clothes and packages take preference over yours dear. You may be relegated to the cellar dear. Please do not order anything else from that River company, the recycling company cannot cope with all that cardboard.

I may be back a little later dears, so much to tell you.....................we are booking our excusions too.
