Thank you dear for your compliments. Yes I do try and keep up appearances. One must never be caught without ones' finery on show.

My wardrobe I like to call a dressing room. It does go right back dear, and opens out into a room at the back.

Have you not noticed the distance between one door and another in the corridor?

The mouse was a little brown one dear, and it scuttled! ugh.

Thank you for your concern dear, the leg is better, but I shall still keep Pat-trish-aaaaah at it!

CherryCrumbles Report 28 Apr 2013 19:23

I must say Petunia dear you are looking most fetching and alluring in your new outfit, where do you find all these outfits? Your wardrobe is so small it looks like it wouldnt hold a chemise let alone a rail of garments of quality.

*thinks* probably got shares in at the Rag Emporium Stall down the flea market.....

I am so sorry to see you with your leg up but on the other hand you are getting some well earned rest, even if it means you are temporarily unable to trot around doing your Good Works.

I expect the church mouse was as frightened of you, as you were of it. Was it the proverbial mouse? or the mickey mouse? the town mouse? the country mouse? or the computer mouse? I have often wondered how loudly the computer mouse squeaks.

Long John doesnt suit you dear. Try Chester and practise calling "Mr Dillon, Mr Dillon". If Pat rish aaaah thinks you have a man in your room, she will come running.

Poor Teresa, nothing more exciting in your life other than the clothes prop and washing line. Still you can jazz up your day by color coordinating the clothes pegs to the shirts and sheets :-D :-D :-D As long as everyone is well and safe :-)

MotownGal Report 28 Apr 2013 18:42

By golly jingo Teresa dear, you certainly know how to live the high life. A washing line and clothes prop. I can hardly contain the excitement! My own clothes line has been up and down more times than a fiddlers elbow [cleaned that one up!] in the last few days, the showers keep showering and Pat-trish-aaaaah has been running in and out putting out and taking in the washing. We have left it now, and if it comes in more dirty than it went out, then so be it.

I do so love the smell of fresh laundry that has been line dried. All that fresh air wafting around in it.

Beatrice did very well this morning, we had a new tune to Jerusalem, and she did not have time to practice it. She played lustily, I pumped furiously and turned the pages at the same time. Multitasking is nothing new to me. The only problem was the mouse.........................

As you can appreciate an old building has plenty of meeces, and while Beatrice was playing like the Phantom, one run up her leg...................she winced, she screamed and then stood up sharply. The organ went off key, the music sheets went up in the air, and my foot got caught under the pedal.

So here I am with my foot on a stool in the Parlour. It has been bandaged and I have a cold compress on it. Not broken by very, very sore.

That nice Mr Endeavour is on later, so I will hop into my bedroom and watch it there.

Just call me Long John

well I am sorry I kept shouting "Snap" but I thought thats what we were playing. I can tell you this Petunia dear - it was nothing like the Bridge that I am used to playing, and the Colonel was definitely cheating, he had cards up his sleeve, cards in his pockets, and cards tucked away up his ..... oh I cannot bring myself to say the word !! :-D :-D ;-) ;-)

ok you have twisted my arm.

cravat.

A tad chilly this morning. You will have noticed my absence. No? you didnt notice? oh well. I insisted that MFH drive me to Bushey to an antiques and crafts fayre/flea market. I didnt see any fleas worth buying but I did find an Edward VII china mug to add to my royal memorabilia wot the next generation are going to inherit one day.

Gooooooood morning ladies, from a bright and sunny Motie Towers.

I am afraid the Blooooooberry let me down last night, with the postings, I duplicated myself and am covered in ink!

The gentleman callers arrived about 9pm last night, and we played a couple of hands of Bridge. I must say the Colonel is a proper card sharp, he won all the games.

Cherry dear, did you have to keep shouting Snap in the middle of the games, it was very offputting dear. I shall have to give you one to one lessons in the finer details of the game.

Off to church now ladies, Beatrice is about the call for me, I am to turn the pages while she pumps the organ.

oh dear me, Petunia dear, you didnt mean the 'Here and Now' present. You meant the 'gift' present. Why didnt you make it clearer? Of course I shall be delighted to take a look.

My word, it is one of those. Well I never did. Fancy that. The oojamaflip should fit into the thingummybob quite nicely when its finally put together with the owsyervater, and glued down with the wodgacallitt.

Whoever would have thought we could obtain gold plated Create Your Own Jigsaws in the 21st century That will keep the Golden Couple happy and gainfully occupied on many a cold winter night, to be sure.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 27 Apr 2013 19:11

Please yourself dear, I shall not bother you further with you appraisal of the gift to Mr and Mrs Georgianna, I shall not even put your name on the gift card if you feel so indifferent to it. I thought it would be a nice gesture to put all our names on it, but if you cannot be asked to even look at a photograph, then so be it dear.....................

#give it a minute for the guilt to set in, and sniffs delicately, and leaves the room#

Thats it, give her a little time to stew, and then maybe she will condescend to look at the lovely ooojamaflip that I have bought for the Happy Couple.

Well we have been waiting for the rain to arrive all day. It was due at 3pm exactly according to the weather forecast, but has only deigned to show up in the last half hour. I could have gawn out and done my good deeds for the day had I known it was going to be fine.

Just think, all those cherubic little Brownies who could have done with the benefit of my experience in building a camp fire, and making a hay box cooker..............

I shall retire to my room dears, I have an appointment with a Dead Sea Mud Pack.

what about the present Petunia dear?

isnt the present the "here and now" as opposed to the past or the future?

the past has passed, and the future is yet to come. ;-) ;-) ;-)

*splutters in a haze of light headedness*
Petunia dear I feel decidedly dizzy with all this heavy breathing and I most certainly am not paranoid, its just that everyone is out to get me ;-)

As yes our young ones. We spend nearly three years teaching our children to speak properly. Then we spent the next 13 years telling them to shut up.

Having received the Annual Bank Statements, I have done my calculations for the last tax year which ended in March and to my horror realise that I owe Inland Revenue some money. I would protest on the grounds that I am an impoverished pensioner living on the state pension, but they dont care about that. I had some interest paid which took me slightly over the personal tax allowance threshold for last year. Fortunately, with the increase in this tax years personal allowance, those thieving b**rs at the IRS wont be able to touch me for a brass farthing let alone one red cent or a dodgy groat.

Am orf now to write a cheque, then I shall make us all a lovely cup of tea
*eyes Petunia slyly*
and dont listen to Susan's inferrerrerring that I mixed ground glass in with the sugar granules. Ground glass is not a poison.

I do know how to commit the perfect murder, but if I told you then I'd have to kill you
:-D :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D

MotownGal Report 27 Apr 2013 13:29

Now, now Cherry dear, come and sit down and take the weight off your paranoid tendencies, no-one is accusing you of anything dear, deep breathes, thats it, just breathe in through your nose and our through your mouth, nice and calm..................now that is better isnt it?

Crikey, I shall have to be more careful in future, I had no idea that Cherry had such a thin skin, must be all that cream she rubs into herself when she emerges from the bathroom in a cloud of steam.................must check the gas bill when it comes in.

Yes dear the brick path looks positively yellow in the sunlight, maybe dear Dorothy will be skipping along it with the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion. Just as long as Toto does not do his doggy do's on the path I dont care who toddles down it.

Dear Upsidedown Susan, I do hope things settle down soon. Your lad is playing a mans game, so you must expect a little accident now and again. I know of a young man who was always in the A & E department of the local horsepiddle, being stitched, stuck and manipulated!!!! Now did you bite the bunnies head or tail off first? Take good care of yourself dear, how is the weather down there?

Lesley, how little ones grow, just like Topsie, once they are on their feet, that is it. They are on the path of independence. We try to teach our children to stand on their own two feet, and then when they do, we dont like it!

That is all my pearls of wisdom for now dears. I do not want to overload you with good advice...............

Now, what did you think of the present?

Tapping my foot impatiently

*looks around in bewilderment*

what is going on, do you have some sort of conspiracy theory going against me? All I did was cook up some weedkiller for the garden path that dear Petunia often leads me up. I am not trying to poison anyone with a noxious brew, and if Mrs Berry didnt wash up the pan wot I used properly it isnt my fault.

But do just take a look at that garden path - the old red bricks are now a brilliant shade of gleaming white which reflect beautifully in the morning sunlight ....... has anyone seen my sunglasses?

Susan I am sorry to hear your lad has broken his leg and hope it heals well. No doubt he will be collecting autographs and rude phrases on the plaster. And I hope you are recovering from your sniffles. Some Chocolate Therapy is most appropriate, and you are quite correct that dogs should not be given human chocolate, it could make them very ill indeed.

Well I have got out the silver tea pot and made a roobus brew - anyone for a cuppa and some bourbon bikkies ? :-D

MY male fruit has rung this evening to say he has sustained an injury playing the oval ball game and is now the proud, or not so proud, owner of a plaster cast upon his right leg... :-D. What else is going to come along and throw shi.e upon our lives :-(.

There is a Lindt bunny in my cupboard just waiting to be eaten - or not. Tough, I am in the mood to eat chocolate :-)... Just have to refrain from sharing with the pup.. A big no no for canines. All the more for me ;-).

The not so little E is just fine thank you for asking .................. can you believe how time flies :-0 she now has 2 teeth, crawls and talks, dad dad, mum mum, egg and she puts her head on your shoulder and says aah ..................... that's my favourite, Wednesday she is spending the afternoon and evening with us as her mama is going to see Beyonce, her papa will pick her up when he has finished work, he doesn't do multitasking so he will have to bath and eat first too.

Auntie Petunia please be very careful who you allow to brew your tea ........and remember keep your freinds close and your enemies closer ................ not that I think you have any enemies.

Happy Anniversay dear Lesley and Mr Lesley. I hope you had a lovely, lovely time.

I do hope that little E is well. The hospital is very good, I attended there myself as a very young get. When God was a lad......................

I have taken to making my own cups of tea now, I have a sneaky feeling that someone is trying to do me in. I remember a case a long time ago, about poison being put into a tea-urn, and the office being sick.......................hmmmmmm!

Now....................what do you think of my Golden Anniversay present. I took a picture on the Blooooodberry before they packed it. Now, can you see the spout, and the handle, and of course it will be perfect for you know...............it can be used on any occasion................or not....................it can just be displayed...................you can see the thingamebob on the top where it oooojamaflips. There now...................what do you think?
