Good morning dear Ladies, here I am just returned from Church. I decided to go to an early service today, I have so much to do.

I am sorry for my absence dears, but as you know I have rather a hectic social whirl, and cannot always fit into my diary.

We have ANOTHER new Vicar dears, they do not seem to last long, the last one left a gibbering wreck, siting that he could not cope with the WI. Tutty tut. We are the last bastions of all that is good within the Parish. I dont know why our inter....erm.....suggestions should bother him so much. However, he left, and decided a few months in a Retreat would be in order.

Now...................for the bombshell.....................we have a new LADY Vicar.

I must say she took us by surprised. She has the first name of Pat. We thought it was rather common to effect this shortening of the Christian name, but of course we thought it was short for Patrick. But no, it is Patricia. Another One!!!

However, this lady is nothing like my dear Pat-trish-aaaaaah. Who incidentally is returned from Brighton with Juana. But more of that later.

Our new Vicar seems a force to be reckoned with. She is a tall blonde with upswept hair, and make-up! She wears her robes with panache, and did I see a flash of red soles to her high-heels? I think we may to have a word at a future date.

The honeymoon couple have come back from their jolly hollidays, not particularly tanned, but looking less fraught.

Mrs Berry and dear little Holly prepared a wonderful meal for their return, and we all sat around the table with dear friends Octavia, Georgianna and their menfolk. It was just like old times.

Now I know it is only July, but Harvest Festival needs marking in the Church Diary, so Pip Pip for now dears.

Hallo Auntie P, hope all is well at the Towers, I do like the garden dear, your bushes are pruned to perfection. I would so love a couple of bay trees but fear they would look a little raggy round the edges, im not too dainty with the sheers :-D

is Patrish aaaaa back from the south coast. Was it Eastbourne, Bournemouth or Brighton? We spent many happy hours in the caravan trailing along sites on the South coast.

FTE had a pleasant birthday thankyou Auntie dear. The fellow fruits are heading to the metropolis to learn how to make cocktails in the near future. Tom Cruise comes to mind :-D :-D :-D

FTY decided that due to management changes, new leagues etc the devils football Sundays would be a thing of the past Oh happy days :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

The Fruit wandered in from the place of education today and decided that the new manager, training team and fellow fruits were not so bad and ......................the fruit is signing up for the new season. Tuttttty tut tut tut tut :-| :-| :-|

I will ned a loan Auntie of the discarded thermals and liberty bodices which you have got too hot for. Also can Mrs Berry put the meat puddings on the boil, I will need some warming grub :-D

Good evening dear Ladies, what a warm one it is! I have stripped down to my combinations and liberty bodice as I am glowing. One cannot take any more clothes off unless one is orft to bathe. I am fanning myself whilst sitting draping myself artistically on the chaise longue.

I do hope the party went well dear Teresa, how lovely and sad it is to see our little ones grow up, we remember them as chubby rosy cheeked little ones. Aaaah!

I took your advice dear and packed Pat-trish-aaaah and Juan off on a holiday. Obviously not Spain, as that would have been too cruel, but to the South Coast. A little sea air and bathing will put them in better spirits.

I still have Mrs Berry and dear little Cherry in the house, so I am not completely alone. I must say that I do not feel like eating too much when it is as warm as this. I am surviving on salads, and have started twitching my nose! A little alarming I must say.

I hope you are all well Ladies, and you are keeping your cool. Oh dear, I sounded really hip and happening then did I not?

I have been seeing how the other half live so to speak but I am back in the folds of Motie Towers now :-)p

Pat rish aaaa prehaps needs a holiday Auntie, a little rest and relaxation in the countryside. We have a function that needs a firm hand. FTY is having a bit of a do in the summer and we need a firm hand to "do the door" Pat rish aaa would fit the bill naicely ;-)

Tis the Birthday of FTE today, my goodness has 24 years gorn past that quickly. Also the birthday of my dear Cousin, my friend, a friend of FTY and of course dear Prince William "takes a deep breath" also Fathers day and the Summer Solsest.

Its the longest day and the evenings will be pulling in :-S :-S :-S :-S We haven't had summer yet!!!!!!!!

Anyway Auntie, it is Sunday and im sure you will be in Church keeping an eye on proceedings. Do you have an organist?

I did chuckle about Art :-D :-D :-D FTE went to a certain "Modern" gallery yesterday and said she thought the art was **** ****** ***?????? I feel the fruit appreciates the lanscapes and 'orses associated with our little Essex/Suffolk boarder.

Good evening dear Ladies. I trust you are all well and warm.

Tis a little chilly here at Motie Towers. I have bathed and am wearing my dressing gown to keep warm. By golly jingo, tis Flaming June, and the weather is apalling.

However, my absence can be explained in one word, Pat-tish-aaaaah.

Alas, she took her Grandfather's demise to heart. She is still in her weeds, and is moping around the house. I think she looks like Mrs Danvers, as she has taken to scraping her hair back into a tight bun at the nape of her neck. I fully appreciate that he brought her up when her dear Mama passed over, but she had not seen him for a while, and when she was love-struck with Juan she did not give him a second thought. Call me callous, but we have to accept the inevitable that people grow old. I am no stranger to grief as you well know..............

The church has now advertised for an organist now that Pat-trish-aaah cannot bear to leave the house. I do hope this new person will not do a bunk like the last one did!!!! I fear that our dear little conclave cannot cope with more scandal. It makes us all of a flutter!!!

The gels, Georgianna, Octavia and I are going to the Summer Exhibition soon at the Royal Academy. I do hope there will be some proper paintings to look at. Not some machine that fires wax at a wall. I must be getting old, because I do not understand art any more. I like fine lines, details and fat little cherubs. And be honest ladies, you dont get many of those to the pound anymore.

I hope you are all tickety boo dears and enjoying the Summer, or the Autumn according to which side of the world you are.

It is lovely to have you back at the helm. It does sound like Juan had a wonderful send off. I hope the great Bullring in the sky is ready to party, can you imagine it.
I hope Patrishaaa is feeling a tad happier.

I trust you are well rested after your travels?. One suspects the ladies at Church will be 'happy' to see you again. (sends a quick prayer on behalf of all the ladies who manage more than admirably in dear Petunia's absence :-D).

I am off out with FTY and a dear friend, to collect Mama and then take ourselves out to lunch and take in a movie. :-).

I had a busy day yesterday, toiling inside and out so am feeling quaite deserving of a nice day out. :-).

Good evening Ladies. I hope that you are all well, and enjoying the watery sun and cool breezes. I fear that Summer is not quite with us yet, but we can but hope.

As you may have noticed dears, I have been conspicuous by my absence. Alas, it was bad news that took me away from my hoards of admirers.

Dear Juan, Pat-trish-aaaaaah's grandfather, who brought her up when her dear Mama passed away, has also gone to that great Bullring in the Sky.

We had a phone call that he was ailing, and we had to drop everything and leave.

Dear George was kind enough to drive us there, and we have only just returned home.

Pat-trish-aaaaah was distraught. But he was good age, and at least he saw his grand-daughter married.

As you know they lived in the country, and the funeral was all that you would have imagined set amongst the Spanish countryside. A little whitewashed chapel in the town was the setting for a typical family celebration of his life.

Pat-trish-aaaaah was especially upset to return to the chapel so soon after visiting it last Summer with her husband-to-be, Juan. There was a great deal of weeping and wailing, and the ladies all wore black lace shawls on their head and shoulders. Beautiful flowers adorned the chapel, and as well as being sad, it was a joyous occasion.

We stayed for a couple of weeks to make arrangements to ship back the few pieces of furniture that Pat-trish-aaaaah wanted to bring home. The rest of the house contents were distributed to her cousins on her fathers' side. The house will be sold in due course, and the money will be divided equally to all the children.

George was a rock to us all, and we regularly kept in contact with Georgianna and Octavia to keep an eye on Motie Towers for us. I had the feeling we had left the iron on, but dear Mrs Berry and Cherry, came in daily to open and close the curtain, so it looked as if was habitated. She thoughfully opened the upstairs windows on our return, so that the bedrooms were aired enought for us to sleep in. And sleep we did, it was a long journey, and we were exhausted.

So dears, that is the tale of the Old Iron Pot, and an explanation as to why I have not regaled you with stories of my prowess of good works for a couple of weeks.

Hey ho, back to the Church tomorrow, and of course, I shall find out what has been happening there..................and how I can improve it.

Susan I was one of the gals in heals and dresses back in the day when I could still wear them, I dont remember wearing a coat but I remeber my Mammas dire warnings of not wearing one :-D , mind you I do the same to my fruits now :-S

Teresa, I am looking for my thermals today, there is definitely a polar blast coming our way.....

The young these days seem immune to temperature change, though I shouldn't lump them all in the same league. I do have a chuckle at times when the dear wee things trying to look so grown up in their heels and short dresses, have near blue lips... When pressed, are at pains to say they are not cold in the slightest...... " Yeah right "......

I have been out with the grandog this morning for a long overdue walk. Most enjoyable indeed. We do walk in a semi rural area and at one point the dog races off on the scent of rabbits..... I don't suppose she would ever catch one - :-D.

The weather here is what is known as "changeable" one doesn't know if its time for thermals or summer frocks. FTE and I drove through town the other day, there was a couple in hats coats, the whole caboodle, and a gal wandering by in shorts!

I did start a post last Friday - but the front door opened and in came the pup and her mistress and the babe :-).... Apologies for my tardy attendance of late.

I hope you all had a pleasant Easter. Lesley, I am guilty of indulging in too much chocolate.... I love the stuff. :-D. Teresa, you have done well not to eat your lovely chicken. :-).

I did indeed have a lovely holiday. The weather was very kind to us. We travelled what seemed like a gazillion kilometres - it was fabulous. I even saw a few Kangaroos feasting not very far from where we were sat... OH and I both loved our road trip to northern NSW. Oh what a vast country.........

Petunia, I hope your Easter bonnets went down a treat?. Did the children receive a chocolate offering?.
We all went along to visit FTE's church on Easter Sunday. Every second year, they tell the Easter journey in real life story. There were children, animals on an ark, the whole caboodle. FTE had a starring role and was 'on the cross' as we walked through. The makeup was so very real it was not so pleasant to look at. I must say though, as non church goers, we really enjoyed the whole event. The incredible amount of work it must have taken . FTE tells me over 7000 people went through over the whole Easter weekend.

I do hope you are all enjoying the wondrous joys of Spring?. Our weather man has told us to expect a cold snap with wind and rain. :-| :-|. Time to drag out the woollies me thinks. Our neighbour at the end of our driveway has a huge old Oak tree. That huge old oak tree has a gazillion leaves, most of which blow straight down our driveway - guess who gets to pick them up..... I tell myself I only have to pick 'each' leaf up once :-D. It helps ;-).

Time to get a wriggle on with my day and brace myself to face the elements.

No devils football this week Aunty but there is another instrument of distration dear. I had not been overly familiar with it apart from encouraging the fruits to get orf it from time to time, however ......................... I have now got the devils face book :-D :-D :-D. Oh my goodness the people I have been reunited with and also those who can be seen from a safe distance. Well Aunty some dont look a day older than when we last met ( the naice people) however those, especially the ones who were "top dog" at school and less than kind to me have not worn so well. Oh how I laughed and chuckled. Revenge really does come to those who wait even if its taken 34 years :-D :-D :-D

Im back at paid toil on reduced capacity until the proceedure is done. I have missed the fellow toilers and its nice to be back.

Now the bonnets sound delightful but you really must get Pat rish aaa orf her posterior to lend a hand. Loved up tutty tut tut tut!!!!!!

I happened across Cherry Crumbles on the devils FB. She is in good form. Susan is also there and been on her hols.

I trust the gentleman walker of your Lady Fruit was a suitable candidate dear Teresa. She is a lovely gel, and you only want the best for her. Do let us know dear. Are you still freezing on the touchline of the Devils Game dear. I know young boys have to practice their footballing skills, but can they not do it in the warm? By the by, how is your back dear?

Dear Upsidedown Susan. Such is the trials and tribulations of working dear. We have to turn up on a regular basis. I hope your trip was wonderful, and you all had a good time. How is the little one?

Now, I am all fingers and thumbs, and have had a prick or two over the last few days.

I am charged with making the Easter Bonnets for the Sunday School children. As Pat-trish-aaaah is STILL not participating in the chores, as she is, what did she say, Loved Up. I am having to stitch and sew. I have pricked my fingers to distraction dears. I even managed to shove a needle under the nail. Oooooh!!

However, the bonnets, all 12 of them, are sitting on the sideboard, ready for next Sunday. Did you know that there is a shop that sells everything in it, for 99p each? I did not.

There were plain bonnets in there, so I snapped up a dozen. There were also packs of tiny yellow chicks so I bought a few of those too. Then along to Mr Petersham the Haberdasher, and I acquired all manner of ribbons, feathers, and fripperies.

I must say they do look rather dashing dears. The little ones will be pleased.

So, I am organising the flowers for next week too. I have ordered Longiflorum Lillies, and have managed to fish out two big vases from the attic, and have made arrangements for two small plaster columns to be retrieve from the Vestry. The flowers will be on either side of the Altar. I think it will look lovely and fresh.

Easter is, after all, a new start of Spring and Hope.

Dont eat too many chocolate eggs dears.

Hello Teresa dear, yes I agree that naice Mr Cox is worth watching. A very pretty face and clever with it.

I shall be indoors when the Eclipse occurs, and sadly will not see it. I fear I will not see the next one either in 2090!

Pat-trish-aaaah as you know no longer rides the tuk-tuk. Since she has married she finds the saddle too uncomfortable. She says there is not enough width for her. I shall invest in a larger one for her expanding btm.

Talking of a pretty face......................one locks herself in the bedroom on a Sunday night now, and has invested in a box of tissues, to catch the drool.
