Hello Ladies,
Phew, what a week we have just had :-D. The resulting offering is just the sweetest little girl anyone would want. <3.
Baby is doing well, her parents are somewhat frazzled, there have been a couple of hairy nights but all is on the up....
Petunia, I have bunting :-D, pink and blue hues, made for an h'afternoon tea party we had a few eons ago... How exciting, a wedding. No BFG's anywhere near I hope.???.
~~~~~ to all, I am in such a muddle here, Mama and male fruit and his new girlfriend came to stay to meet the new baby. I am up to my armpits in laundry, I must away and try and get organised. I was about as much use at work last week as a chocolate teapot.. I must try harder to actually give a damn this week.. ;-). My heart is elsewhere. :-),
Hope all is well with you and yours,
Thank you dears for your bunting, I am just untangling myself!
Yes, congratulations again dear Susan, or should we call you Nannie Susan now?
Good luck with the exams Teresa, I am sure the results will be fine.
Soooo, we have a new Vicar. A trendy new Vicar, with floppy hair, and gold rimmed glasses. He took all the particulars and the first of the Banns will be read on the first Sunday in September.
He wondered if we might like a folksy ceremony as he is very good with the guitar! I said we may think about it. Think yes, have..........no!
We are under a mountain of magazines at the moment, Pat-trish-aaah is considering her dress. I suggested Milletts, she declined.
Seriously, if she get an idea of what she wants, I am most willing to have one made for her. I favour duchess satin, overlaid with lace, but in the end, she will have what she wants.
Of course I will pay for the wedding, she is my flesh and blood after all. We are also looking at places for the reception, I have discounted Downton Abbey, but there is rather a naice stately home on the Heath, that allows receptions. So we will enquire. It is not peak season, so we will book the reception first, and the wedding after.
I have suggested the newlyweds live at Motie Towers, it will give them a head start in life, and it will give me the security of having a man about the house. It will work, as Pat-trish-aaaah has her own self contained flat, as you know.
Mrs Berry is going to buy the ingredients for the cake tomorrow. Apparently they want a four tier cake, so plenty of currants!
Lesley is missing again..................Pip Pip! Auntie Petunia
Teresa, I managed to reduce my laundry mountain to nothing, thanks for your kind offer... How nerve wracking for you all waiting for the GCSE exams, best wishes to you all. I am sure your Fruit will do well.
Four tiers?. Crikey, how big is this wedding going to be?. Lucky currants are not rationed these days. :-D. A word Petunia, try reverse physcology(sp?) on Patty if you realllllly don't want to run with her ideas.... ;-). Do keep us posted , I have a feeling you will be tearing your hair out before long. Though the dishy Vicar could be a tonic..
#bustles onto thread, sits elegantly down, and smooths skirt, clears throat#
Well dears, what a week it has been. As I said last week, we have been do see the Dippy Vicar to discuss the Banns. As Pat-trish-aaah lives within the Parish, and is a reular-ish church goer she will have no problems. They are to be announced from the first Sunday in September. Juan is still living in the West Wing, and I must say he is a real treasure. He has changed tap washers, cut grass and all sorts. He is even considering finishing off the Ark for us, just in case we need it!
Over the next few weeks we will have the Vicar over to tea, to discuss the ceremony, hymns and the Service. Pat-trish-aaaaaah fancies the idea of 'Obeying' but I have never known to obey an order in her life!
Of course the full Spanish clan will be over to witness the wedding, and of course I shall put them all up. We have decided the Wedding of The Year will be on Rememberance Sunday.
We have decided on cream Duchess Satin dress, with matching coat and hood [we fear it might be a bit chillier by then] and the bouquet will be of red poppies, as it is only fitting.
Pat-trish-aaaaah has been nattering away on the phone like billy-o. All in Spanish of course, so that I cannot understand. As you know the extend of my Spanish was limited to 'Come into the garden to smell the gardenias' by that dashing Spaniard Juan many years ago. Unfortunately the smelling of flowers was already too late, as I had plighted my troth to that blackguard Patrick a few months earlier, and he had left me with more than a sweet goodbye! Still that is all water under the bridge, and many Poo sticks have plopped into it over the years!
So that is up to speed gels, now what is all this about a December bump? Are we expecting an Avalanche?
I hope the lad was fully compensated for his good marks dear Teresa, one has to continue with the donkey/stick scenario!
I imagine dear Susan is up to her eyes in Johnsons Powder! How lovely.
Good upside down morning Ladies,
Goodness me, I have been away a while.... Life has been rather hectic these past two weeks. I have been putting myself to good use 'next door'.... I am hoping things are finally settling down now.. :-D. The babe gets weighed again today, there has been a bit of concern about her losing a lot of birth weight. I am sure things are better there as we now have a chubby cheeked little girl..
Things are moving along with the wedding, how lovely. Do keep us posted. Poppies are so lovely. I did have some in my garden once upon a time.. Time will tell if we have any this year.. I did once have the lovely purple poppy, I think commonly known as the opium poppy... I had a lovely specimen at my back door, came home after having workmen here and the whole thing had gone... I would love to have seen the twits trying to extract enough oil from one plant to take a nice trip..... Eejits.
Our weather has turned to custard.. I shall not be getting out in the garden for a few days yet. I am determined to try and make something of the current poor excuse for a garden. I need a truck load of new mulch to top up all the beds.. It will be my back that gets broken. :-(.. OH is not one for gardening.. We visited Mama over the weekend and came home with some lovely orchids from her garden. My Papa used to grow them. :-).
I hope you are all fit and well, I guess the autumn colours are plentiful now.? Time to get my skates on and ready myself for the day ahead. Plus I want time to pop in next door before I head off. ;-).
Toodle pip, Susan
Hallo Susan :-D
Sending big hugs to you all, the weather here is "middling" it cant make its mind up. Its a big day for FTY. The fruit is off to " further education" today and a bit of a bus trek to boot. The devils x box can cool down for a bit now. It generated more heat than Patrisha on a sunny July afternoon in Spain!
I cant think where Auntie is, she has weddings etc etc to organise and of course that nice dance show to watch which she is so fond of :-D
Lesley it was a bit on the foggy side on the way back from paid toil last night. Must have been that strange warm rain :-S :-S
off now to look for winter boots
Teresa :-D
Ladies, fret not, I am here! As you say, I have a wedding to arrange.
I bet you are still up to your eyes in talcum Susan, and enjoying every moment of it. Savour it dear, it goes all to quickly.
I bet you waved your hankerchief Teresa, and your fruit went off to Big Boy School. I know it is College dear, I just wanted to make you smile.
Sooooo, we are in the thick of it. Dresses and patterns come and go, we are up to our ears in brochures and magazines. Pat-trish-aaaah cannot seem to grasp that a dress on a size 6 Skinny Minney will not look the same on a size 18. But we are making progess, or so I thought. She favoured an empire line with a train. So I contacted Madame Shivon the dressmaker [think about it] and we were in talks.
However, Pat-trist-aaaah went to the newsagents this morning, and got her copy of Allo. There she saw The Dress of Her Dreams. Modelled by no less than Miss Jolie. A classic dress with a veil covered in what can only be described as scribble. So there you have it, if it is good enough for Angelina, then it is good enough for Pat-trish-aaaaaaah. Ah well, back to the drawing board!
The cake is baked, and Mrs Berry is feeding it on a regular basis. Dont ask! All four tiers are wrapped in greaseproof paper, and in tins. The smell when the tins are opened it like a brewery. However, I could get used to the fumes.
The ceremony is still in discussion. Dear Vicar is a bit hippy dippy, and wants to turn the church into a woodland scene, so that Pat-trish-aaaaah can be Titania! So what does that make Juan? Oberon or Bottom? Answers on a postcard dears.
We have made discreet enquiries as to the availability of the Bequest House on the Heath, and we have an appointment at the weekend.
Busy, busy, always busy.
Auntie P.
Hallo Auntie :-D I think a firm foundation to winch things up a bit is always a good bet, well according to Mr Gok it does ;-) The Vicar sounds a little, em how can I say this, a little wimiscal. A good god fearing service is what is in order. Full of fire and brimstone, not all this flowery woodland stuff!!!!!
The Devils x box is still working at full speed tutty tut tut, all the fellow fruits x boxes are also draining the national grid. Tutttttty tut tut tut :-|
Good Sunday afternoon Ladies.
Well the booking has been made, and we are good to go!
The service is to be held in the Library of the Bequest House on The Heath, at 12 o clock. And the reception in The Orangery at the same House.
The Library is very quiet, and the ceiling is duck egg blue, and the furnishing gold. It is very lovely. The new hippy, dippy vicar has agreed to preside, as we wanted a religious ceremony as apposed to a civil one. Make it water tight I always say.
The Orangery boasts plenty of glass, orange trees and Gainsborough pictures, just the right amount of splendour and relaxation. It will be tickety boo.
Madame Shivon has undetaken the dress, with a crumpled page from Allo, and we are on our way.
Now, why or why, am I singing Frankie Lane, and High Noon?
Well, good evening to Susan with a selection of numbers behind you!
As you can see, we are preparing for a Wedding. Do say you will come.
Do you have a hat to wear? If you feel disposable, they have some naice ones at BHS, if you fancy pushing the boat our, Mr Treacy has a few that may go with your outfit.
Do, say yes, dear, we need a bit of new blood to cheer us along!
Very gently twisting your arm.
