~Lynda~ Report 24 Jul 2012 20:40

Stray your little man will love it too :-)

Barb, I think when I'm not working at the Olympics, I'll be watching it, so not much will get done at this house for a few weeks either :-D

I'm now a little worried, that people who wouldn't of watched, will now, because I said how fantastic it is, and may not like it, but think of it like a play, I may love it you may hate it, but even if you don't like the content, you will be impressed at all the work that has gone into it, after all most of the people in it are volunteers, and have given up weeks of there time to do it, I applied to be in the opening/closing ceremony, but unfortunately I didn't get in, although I did get to do a second audition, so I know just how much these ordinary people have worked, so don't moan eh ;-)

Hi Lynda

Really pleased you said the opening ceremony is gonna be great. When I saw the Engish village thingy I thought it a bit embarrassing. so I will certainly be watching now.
I enjoy the athletics best. OH has been gardening most of the day, with me saying leave it till its not so hot. No he said he has to catch up on all his jobs cause after Friday there no chance of me getting anything done for a couple of weeks.

Tess, I'd liken the opening ceremony to the theatre, I love the theatre too, in fact I like most things, perhaps that's why I'm never bored :-)

The Olympics are a great way to see some of the minority sports, but with my sporting lust, I don't know how many more I can watch :-D

I am looking forward to everything :-) :-) :-)

I enjoy theatre/live performance.

Am also a fan of athletics, gymannastics, football and anything else that comes my way.

Lots of special tv channels devoted to the Olympics, so should be able to watch archery, shooting etc.
A great chance to see some minority (in this country) sports.

Thanks Lynda, for tipping us off.

Hope everyone enjoys London 2012.

Come on Team GB :-D :-D :-D

Although my feelings are known, I too hope you enjoy your Ambassadorship - and yes, any problems should have been ironed out by August.

Let's re-phrase 'waffle' to 'An interesting 2 hour discussion of the History of the Olympics, previous medal winners, and the expected achievments of entering teams. Special attention will be given to the selection and form for members of Team GB'

:-D

~Lynda~ Report 24 Jul 2012 09:31

Will have a word Bob, but I'm sure there will be at least some of the archery & shooting shown on t.v, it was in Beijing, and not to forget that there will lots of events going on at the same time, they can't, sadly show everything.

Thanks Jo, I'm really looking forward to it, I love London, will love showing it off, in all it's glory, and telling the world, what a great place it is, to spend there money, and hope it helps to get the economy going to how we deserve it to :-)

With you all the way on this ! Will watch the opening ceremony and will be cheering on Team G.B throughout the Games.

Well done you for volunteering and hope your days as an ambassador go smoothly.

Can you encourage the BEEB to show more of the skill sports,

rather than the stamina ones? such as Archery, and Shooting?

There's a big "thing" at 8.12 p.m, as in 20.12.

Friday morning there are bells ringing all over Britain, that's at 8.12 a.m, that'll be for 3 minutes, that should sound beautiful.

I don't think there will be any" waffling" beforehand, I'm hoping it will be just "bigging up" Britain, and all the good things that we are great at.

As for who's paying for things, there is massive sponsorship, from different companies, so much so, that you can only use a Visa debit/credit card, within the Olympic parks, not that I agree with that, but apparently Visa are massive sponsors, so a lot of the cost, is being met by sponsors.

There are things that maybe aren't how we'd like them, but nothing is going to change now, so I'm going to just go with the flow, and enjoy every minute. :-)

I start working, as an Ambassador on the 1st August, by that time I'm hoping that all the problems are ironed out, and people I meet are pleasant :-D

Edit to say.... You can use cash in the park, but can only use visa cards
