Pity some of our great British athletes snub the National Anthem whilst representing team GB

May be Mr Giggs would like to give his OBE back

What a shame, it looks as though it is raining in London, so sad after all the nice weather.

Well done Danny Boyle all his co-directors and the thousands of volunteers taking part . Thoroughly enjoyable mix of comedy, music and history.

The cauldron was magnificent a true work of art. :-)

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 28 Jul 2012 01:20

Have a box of tissues Lesley :-)

Big WOW Tess :-D

Loved it all (with the exception of Paul McCartney)

Thought the cauldron idea was amazing too Jo, and absolutely loved that 7 young upcoming athletes, lit it, just what I'd hoped would of happened.
I also liked the fact that inspirational people carried the Olympic flag.

All in all an Olympic opening that was performed to inspire, and it did.

Thanks to Danny Boyle, thanks to the volunteers, and thank you London <3

Posted everything I wanted to say on other thread.
But wanted to share in the enthusiasm on this one :-D :-D

Now looking forward to the games :-D

~Lynda~ Report 28 Jul 2012 10:32

Still on a high :-D

Another thing I loved about the ceremony, was that they had construction workers there, nice touch, it wasn't celeb led either, people singing who I'd not heard of, and the signing choir was beautiful.

Don't know what to watch on t.v there are so many choices, every sport is covered, watched archery, volleyball, rowing, now the cycling, and it's only 10.30 :-)

Hope nobody visits :-D

and a word from Dan, to the people who did the lighting, especially the LEDs, he was VERY impressed! :-D

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 28 Jul 2012 10:48

The lighting was really clever, every seat had a box in front of them with just 9 lights on it, amazing effect.

Anyone watching the cycling? Bit of a double take when loads of them got of there bikes and stood in the bushes and had a wee ! No wonder theres no women racing :-D
