Cos i had nightmares about me Petunia's!! :-0 :-D

I didn't see it, but from what has been said about it, it could just as easily be a non-paying member who reported it, or someone who doesn't post often who wouldn't perhaps feel comfortable asking another member to remove something.

There have been a number of people on this board over the years who have had suicides in their own family, quite possibly one of them felt it was not appropriate? I'm sure no offence was intended,

Island Report 9 Jul 2012 09:25

I'm sure Prickles would have deleted if the offended person had asked her to.
I hope the post is reinstated. :-P

It was rather tasteless but not worth RR'ing and I'm sure that PH meant no offence - not her style. However....not every RR is by someone with an itchy finger nor someone being politically correct. It could be someone who genuinely felt upset or offended.

Careful Wend, owners take their moggies to the vets during the day ;-) :-D

Morning all. I didn't see it either, so can't comment on the content. All I do know for certain is that our Prickles wouldn't come on here to intentionally offend anyone.

Morning Prickles, if you're looking through that window. Hope you're OK chuck.

;-) :-D

I didn't see the original posting by Prickly Holly, but I will endorse what Island has said.
I am old enough to remember this song by Tommy Cooper, and it was considered at the time to be nothing more than a comedy song. It certainly garnered alot of air time, and was not considered offensive.
Perhaps the person with the itchy finger, has spent too much time in the politically correct world, and cannot appreciate that there was a time when people did not always have to be looking over their shoulder every time they opened their mouth to say something.

Now I know why there isn't an italics button on here. :-D

The song was 'don't jump off the roof dad' by Tommy Cooper - mother's just planted petunias etc.
Pretty harmless I thought until I googled and saw that the original was much longer and rather more tasteless than the couple of verses that Prickles put up.
I'm absolutely sure there was no offence intended - it was a comedy song.

I did read the original post and thought it a bit odd

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 9 Jul 2012 00:55

why have all Jiminy's posts been reported? Seems a bit odd unless he has done it himself. They were not contentious and he was asking valid quesions

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 9 Jul 2012 00:37

Jiminy we are all sensitive to the things that affect us individually.

No, things should not be vetted before being posted but there has to be an element of self control sometimes and just occasionally boundaries are crossed - whether intentionally or perfectly innocently

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 9 Jul 2012 00:27

no that surprised me too - must have had a dizzy moment - maybe I am over reacting but I felt it was a little bad at this time of night - the reporter must have felt likewise although a little over reactive

AnnCardiff Report 9 Jul 2012 00:22

hmmm - not a good subject really, especially for those of us who have experienced attempted suicides

not like Prickles to be controversial though is it?

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 9 Jul 2012 00:20

it was the content Jiminy - I can't see it either now but it was a song about suicide - a light hearted song but slightly insensitive I think

eRRolSheep Report 9 Jul 2012 00:11

does nobody else find the topic ever so slightly insensitive?
