supercrutch Report 3 Jul 2012 16:39

Muffy Ann doesn't have wifi :-(

Then once you have found the book, plug in your Kindle with the USB and once it has been recognised using 'My computer' drag and drop the file onto the Kindle. OR use 'send it to' OR copy and paste it.

I'll wait for the phone call :-D :-D :-D :-D

I ordered more books this morning. 1 paid for, 5 free. They didn't get into my Kindle.

Pouring with rain (blue sky a couple of hours ago!), so I wasn't going for a walk up the driveway.

Our house is built on a very sloping block, facing up to the road, the house is 2+1/2 stories. So I went upstairs, Kindle in hand. Walked all over, no books. Went to our bedroom window, one block of the "wireless indicator" got black. Still no books. Opened the window... I have 6 new books to read. Magic!

So no more weird Pagan rituals/dancing at the top of the drive :-D

Scozz good job you don't live in Britain, cause you
would get the blame for all the rain we're having re
the weird dancing you have been doing. :-D

Scozz, yes it is a case of finding the best place for the signal. In Tenerife I had to walk out to the end of the patio and wave the kindle over the wall, goodness knows what the locals thought. Sometimes have to do the same with the netbook, although that is on the wireless of the house where the owner of the apartment lives, not far away, the weather there affects the signal a lot.

The woman across the road is a God botherer.

She always waves, but I'm sure the latest waves (since the Kindle dance) have been done with the two middle fingers underneath lol

If Kindle Dancing causes rain I must remember to take it to MumInLaw's, where she lives is a dustbowl, been no real rain there for years. Not even weeds are growing, and there are no birds. Awful.

For all the moaning we do here in Scotland re weather
I would hate to have no rain, would miss the lush green
of the grass and trees, also birds, bees and butterflies,
how terrible for her. There is never a happy medium
with the weather.

I now get an email every day, notifying me of free books.

Been going mad getting them.

But! They must be floating around in cyber space for a while.

I ordered books every day this week, didn't get them until today. Weird.

It's been overcast since mid-week. On Friday evening we were on top of a hill - still no signal. I had no idea the weather would affect the Kindle so much.

A hint for Aussie Kindle users.

Change your home address to one in the US-

you will get access to a heck of a lot more books
that are not available as ebooks in Oz for copyright reasons.

good idea Mick. I lived in the US for a few years. I remember the Street & Suburb, but not the number.

Not a big black lie or a little white lie.........would that make it a grey lie?

Amazon never check - they dont care- they get to sell more books!

Scozz as you seem to be having problems downloading via WiFi - why not just download to your computer and transfer over via USB.

I live in Sth London, our Digital reception and WiFi are useless

I have to download all my books via USB (quite easy once you get the hang of it)

I have a smart phone which I cannot get online with and now the weather report which comes automatically loaded has gone. A complete waste of money on my part. Am hoping that Saturday I can pop down to Sis in Laws and get her hubby to try to get me back online.... Do wonder if the secondary school opposite and their tech stuff interferes with mine....

Oh to be more tech aware :-)
