LOL Emma,,,,,when I hung out with bikers they used to call it my "idiot light"
I just seemed to attract everyone with an issue......in an area that had 700ppl....

I have learnt,,,,,that some of us have that light,,,,,,whether we want it or not...
YOu just have to deal with it as it comes.....

Ignoring it doesn't work...

Hello Kellie and all,

I've never been taken for a member of staff, but I am still
approached by complete strangers from time to time who
think I have a red book saying This Is your Life and start
telling me their life stories, OH says I draw them like flies
round a cow pat :-D. According to him I must have that kind
of face :-S whatever that means. LOL

GR have told me I should RR any posts that "infringe copyright"

Which is atlest 50% of the posts in here...

Thank you for your email.

ChAoTic,
I had no mum but alot of freinds growing up...
ONE particular friends mum was a bit bossy but always had food out and we were happy...
Ended up my sons were best friends with my firends kids...

That mum who scared me was now a grandmum....and she scared my sons too...(my sons were friends of her grandkids)

That old woman scared people (constructions workers) till the day she died.....and she was all of 5 foot tall...

I am told I scare my sons friends.....and they range from 30yo to 12yo..

We have almost 5 generations of familes being best mates here...our children are bonded by more than genes and blood.....they are bonded by all the familes before them that withstood all arguements and fights and came out supporting each other...

It is really wonderful when you look back on it all..

Kellie, I had to google to find out what buttermilk is.

On a general note, my assessment of this woman from what Kellie put in her original post was not that of a nice, old lady. Nice, old ladies don't flounce, threatening to report all and sundry, when they realise they've made a mistake. They apologise for making the mistake and then ask the manager/store worker to help them find the buttermilk.

On a second general note, my experience of older people, of both genders, is that most of them are lovely people.

Hi Janet,,,
Thanks for joining in
For the last few years I have been doing customer service reviews...
and the supermarkets do not always target people who have a set income and budget plan...

They target the people who do not have a set income and budget plan...
Lower income people who don't have enough money to budget and plan...

That is in Australia where I am btw....

IF you have the money to choose where you shop it is a different issue..

Aside from all the discussion I really don't know why supermarkets can't have a computer type of information, similar to Arg*s where you just enter, in this case, 'buttermilk' and then it comes up on a screen the number of the aisle where you will find it. M*rrisons in my area have recently changed and I expected to find the cottage cheese with the yoghurt but it was in another aisle and I did without the coleslaw for two shopping trips because I realised that I had missed it on the way round and didn't want to waste time asking for assistance.

Sometimes stores don't help themselves and as for swapping things round to encourage more spending it is a naive thought as sometimes that is all it needs to stop a customer coming again.-jl

Was buttermilk pancakes something mums taught ppl??

I didn't have one,,,,,she left and died when I was 14yo....never knew her and have no inclination to...

For the people who chose to "raise hairs" then High 5 each other on this thread...
Shows your IQ and compassion...

THREAD was about being mistaken for staff....not your aged mothers or any aged person trying to be independant...
Learn to read,,,,,,or start your own thread...

Kellie
BTW th buttermilk is NOT in the dairy section.....just so you know Hayely Princess....

Sad_Mushroom Report 1 May 2012 09:08

Hi George,,,I gave up the right to have freinds and gasbag in supermarkets many years ago...LOL
My neighbour of 11years moved at Christmas and I spoke to him for the first time a few weeks ago when he asked how were my dogs handling the new neighbours!!!!

ChAoTiC,,,,I don't even know what buttermilk is or what it is used for....so I would have been wandering for ages.
I actually looked for it today and had no hope...
I asked one young store worker and he walked me about for a while and still no luck.

We went to the front counter and asked and they had to look it up on the computer...LOL

Apparently where I live....noone knows where they buttermilk is!!!

Merlin,
Years ago when studying Commerce we learnt about the Tricky Trolley Tango...LOL
How supermarkets purposely had trolleys with one (or more) whacky wheel to make pushing the trolley in a straight line awkward..The fuller the trolley gets the harder it is to keep straight..

Idea being the longer you battle with the trolley,,the longer you are in the supermarket and the more likely you are to impulse buy..

LOL,
Margot,, Character Assassination reminds me of those old cartoons that they aren't allowed to show on TV anymore. The ones where the cartoon character has a drink then gets shot and all the water pours out from the holes...

Character assassination? What character assassination? Any so-called helpless old lady who calls the manager insisting that '"staff" be fired , then who won't listen to a reasonable explanation and insists that everyone be fired, the manager included, does a pretty fine fine job of it themselves,I would have thought!! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) LOL!!!

This moving stock around has been imported from America, its a way of getting you to look at other things whilst looking for the things you want, just a sales ploy, but it works, personally I get peed of with it. If I cant find what I want quickly,I go to the service desk and ask them to find it for me. :-D
