This is so so sad, thoughts and best wishes with him and his family.......

Have to say was watching the match myself, thank goodness nothing was seen and have to give credit to some of the players and referee for how quickly he was attended to.....
Also the cameras giving the respect on ESPN as to moving away from Fabrice having treatment ....

To see all the players and both set of fans come together and give the respect to the player........

The looks of horror on the faces of the players and those in the crowd turned my stomach.

Well done to ESPN for averting the cameras though. x

Dreadful scenes at White Hart Lane as the match was abandoned after Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch
Bolton player Fabrice Muamba collapsed at the game today he was given resuscitation on the pitch and was rushed to hospital.

This was Tottenhams sixth round FA Cup tie with Bolton and was stopped after 42 minutes following a serious injury to Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba.

With the tie approaching half-time, the England Under 21 international appeared to collapse at White Hart Lane with medics from both teams attempting to resuscitate the 23-year-old.

Former Tottenham boss David Pleat said on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: ‘The player just went down – no-one was near him. Straight away the other players knew there was something seriously wrong.’

Broadcaster ESPN did not play repeat of the incident, instead showing pictures of several spectators in tears.

Bolton took the lead through a Gareth Bale own goal but Kyle Walker levelled for Spurs, with the score at 1-1.
The ref Howard Webb made the decision to abandon the match at White Hart Lane the score was 1 – 1 our thoughts go out to Fabrice and his family we all pray for a speedy recovery

Just goes to show how precious life is. When a young physically fit man with his life in front of him can be struck down just like that. So sad.

Muffyxx Report 17 Mar 2012 19:09

It was horrific...nobody on TV saw anything thankfully but the reaction of the Spurs and Bolton medics immediately showed it was very serious. From what they were saying there was no foul play involved he just collapsed with no-one near him..poor guy.

Players of both sides in tears.........I've never seen anything like it...

My sincere thoughts are with Fabrice Muamba....hope you pull through lad x

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia

Fabrice Ndala Muamba (born 6 April 1988) is a footballer who plays for Bolton Wanderers as a midfielder in the Premier League. He previously played for Arsenal and Birmingham City. At international level, he has represented England at under-21 level.

Early life

Muamba was born in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). His father fled the country in 1994 because of his political views and arrived in England seeking asylum. In 1999 he was granted indefinite leave to remain, at which time he was joined by the rest of the family. They settled in east London, where Muamba attended Kelmscott School in Walthamstow. Despite having arrived in England aged 11 unable to speak English, he went on to take A-levels, and excelled in football at school.

Club career

Arsenal

Muamba was associated with Arsenal's youth system as a schoolboy from 2002, joining their Academy as a first-year scholar in August 2004. He signed his first professional contract in October 2005 and made his first team debut on 25 October in a League Cup tie against Sunderland, in front of a 47,000 crowd at the Stadium of Light.

Prayers and thoughts with the family, team and colleagues of Fabrica Muamba, who collapsed at the Tottenham v Bolton match at White Hart Lane a short while ago. After rescuscitation on the pitch for about 10 mins, he has been rushed to hospital. The match has been abandoned.
