Well, this thread isn't about the RR-er..it's about a young lad with a promising future who was all but dead in front of 36000 fans today, who has survived only because of the wonderful efforts of the medics. So let's stick to the topic and ignore the person who did it.

Just read about this. It happens quite often to young people - obviously a hidden heart problem. Positive thoughts to Fabrice and his family. I read that he is newly engaged - his poor fiancee must be beside herself.

How sad to see the opening post on this thread rr'd. I did see the post earlier and saw nothing that justified it being rr'd :-S

My thoughts and prayers are with Fabrice Muamba, his friends and his family.

"Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Fabrice Muamba has been admitted to The Heart Attack Centre at The London Chest Hospital where he is in a critically ill condition in intensive care," said a joint statement from Bolton and the hospital released at 2130 GMT on Saturday.
"No further information will be issued at this stage. The club and hospital request that the media and public respect the family's privacy at this time."

The behaviour of the players and supporters of both teams was exemplary. Their concern, respect and support for each other was heart warming to see as the medics fought to save the life of this young man.
Thoughts for him and his family - I just hope he pulls through.

I don't know the young man but I wish him well, any one of us who has a child will be thinking of his parents and family tonight and hoping the thoughts and prayers of those who know him and strangers alike will pull him through.

Write to GR direct - I have - am disgusted and said so on Susan's thread. Do not wish to repeat myself.

My thoughts and prayers for the recovery of this young man and for his family.
ICU nursing is of the highest standard and they will fight every inch of the way for and with him.

Sending positive vibes to Fabrice Muamba. Thinking of his family and friends.

Just seen shots of the crowd and other players on MotD. Very moving to see so many people united in wishing this young man well.

Pleased that the ref abandoned the game.
Special thoughts too to all the people that were there and saw it happen.

I've been hearing this on our radio news since early this morning.

Such sad news to hear, and about one so young, and so fit.

Wishing him well.

We have had several football (ie, American & Canadian football), rugby, and ice hockey players fall like Muamba ....... some still in high school, some in their early 20s ..................... and in almost every case it turns out to be an undiagnosed heart defect.

Fingers crossed that they can treat him.

The commentators were talking about how quiet it all was in the stadium and I think one of them said they'd never experienced that before. I said to hubby that it reminded me of when we were leaving Old Trafford after a Derby County away game and news of Hillsborough had begun to seep through. As I recall, the supporters coach was quiet too.

I hope that FM does well throughout the night and that his family can close their eyes too.

I also think of the families who have had this experience with a child - all the 'ordinary' ones and the 'known' people like Terry Yorath. This must bring it all back to them.

Peace.

GR need to do some culling on this site - whoever RRd this should be damn well ashamed of themselves

A dreadful thing to happen on a playing field - let's hope he makes a full recovery

I so hope this young man recovers.

The 24 hours following such an attack are crucial. With every hour that Fabrice fights on the better chance he has of recovery.
