Apparently the thought is that he has been chosen because he has a huge fan base not only here but all over Europe. I didn't realise until I read about him how well known he is.

dorsey admitted at the time that he took the name " Englebert Humperdink" as a gimmik

the name of a real composer and musician!!

Bingo.

Poor little chap was mortified when I told him the circumstances. Don't think he's sung it since!

SheilaSomerset Report 2 Mar 2012 14:26

Moors murderers?????

Mum used to be a fan of old Humpo, I have memories of his crooning shattering the peace of a Sunday afternoon.... :-)

A little inside story about Joe Mcelderberry.

His xmas album contained a rendition of Little Drummer Boy. I was at a venue where he was performing and was speaking to him afterwards just after xmas. I asked him (and the compere David Kid Jensen) if they knew what famous criminal trial that song had featured in.

Does anyone else know....?

:-) :-)

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 2 Mar 2012 13:49

Does anyone actually watch it? Or more to the point, will anyone admit to watching it? It makes big brother look like advanced university challenge.

You could have chubby brown and joe mcelderberry doing a duet of o sole mio for all the good it will do. Its a foregone conclusion - greece will get the sympathy vote and israel will come last cos they will have bombed iran.

:-D :-D :-D
