I was really hoping that Rita and Denis wouldn't marry. They just don't match at all for me. Maybe he'll do a runner with her sherbet dib-dabs :-D

I think they will be knocking right now. Not sure about Leanne. i think she might fail in a residency application. Too much of getting back at Peter methinks and using Si who is a very willing supporter of her.

I think the storyline is daft anyway. Why is Carla putting up with it. She has that flash pad and likes the good life. A life living above the bookies - I think not.

As Peter said, she is not Simon's mother, and for her to take Simon without a backward glance is a bit rich. Stella putting her twopenny worth in as well. Calling him an unfit father. OK he may be, but would you really slag someone off in the middle of a pub?

Has Peter forgotton that Leanne was working as a call-girl, and stole the social club money?

I agree with Mowtowngal. I don't see why Leanne should think she is any more fit to be a mother than Peter a father. She has no home, no job and a dodgy past. Just because someone is an alcoholic does not necessarily mean they can't look after a child with support. Unfortunately for Peter, Carla is not very good support as she turns to alcohol herself at times of stress.

I doubt, now that Social Services is involved, Leanne will be able to just take Simon off to the pub. If she had supported Peter in caring for Simon, I would have thought she genuinely cared for the boy. Now I think she is just out for revenge.

I think she is a great actress.

She played it straight in Waking the Dead, but is gloriously funny in The Royle Family.

Maybe she can take the mantle of the dear departed Blanche.
