It would be nice if I did Wend :-D Daphne does have a wonderful scent, mention of that just prompted me to go and see if my two lilacs that I planted last year have survived, and they have, only small so it will be a while before they flower but always worth the wait.

My friend in Wales had lupins growing in her hanging baskets, by mistake, but they did ever so well as the slugs and snails couldn't get to them lol.

Rose, I do wish you lived near me - I've got quite a few buddlieas that have self-seeded, which I shall be digging up. I've just been out in the garden to pick a bunch of Daphne for my d-i-l. It's scent is intoxicating. It's growing near the pond and, yes, the frogs are still at it in there!

Like the idea of freesias in hanging baskets - might try that.

Don't usually have a paper but just bought DM, for 4.90 postage can get 3 dwarf buddleias which is about the price of one. There are other offers through the week but the buddlieas will be be a better size for my garden and will encourage the bees and butterflies hopefully :-D

Shall have to try some freesias in the mixed baskets. Not planted those yet though, will do those in 2 weeks when we return from the Lake District. :-)

hello lesley thats nice, i have a plant with my dads name in it its his memorial plant in the garde.

it happend again as i left my charity stall a plant fell in my bag!!, i just pick the ones that are perianal and are pretty looking, ive got some sweet peas to go in , and in my pastic house ive got seedlings of carrots coming up, my orchad path has been created and nearly full of fruit trees ;-)

What a brillo idea Joy. I grow the tiny tomatoes in baskets. I'll have to try a few freesias at the back, now. Thanks for the idea.

the freesias go at the back of the baskets and uses my frnce for support

Fuchsias i use in the centre of the baskets

I like flowers/plants that include names of people I know and I buy any fuchsia with Sarah in it's name, sort of in memory of my youngest sister Sarah who died when she was only 31.

OH is sorting his greenhouse at the moment. Yes, I wondered about freesias in hanging baskets too. fuchsias we always have in baskets.

Ha,ha, Ann, I get everywhere, don't I. There is also a Clematis with the word in it's title, but can't remember it's full name.
I have a feeling, and it is just a feeling, that Joy meant she grows Fuchsias in her hanging baskets. I can't imagine Freesias in them, or they would look too tall.
I have bought my Geraniums down from the bedrooms to the greenhouse, and will start watering them, to bring them alive. I'm clearing the greenhouse work benches, so that I can put all my seed trays out. This is the start of things for the next few months. Hurrah.

I have just potted on 10 fuchsias which ae now in the conservatory and five hanging baskets with Surfina Petunias. Well a couple have Tumbelina Petunias and one of them is Julia!! :-D

I agree with everything AnninGlos has said about freesias I too have never had any luck with them.
I've potted on all my plug plants and covered them with fleece as we've have been forecast night temperature of 2/3 degrees, all I can do know is keep my fingers crossed.
Our snowdrops and crocus are just coming to an end, wish they lasted longer.

Never tried them in hanging baskets Joy so that is a thought.

Love hyacinths, tulips are early Joy aren't they? Rose, I love freesias but never have any luck with them so I'll be interested to see if you can get them to grow, love the scent of them.

i am so excited
i found a pink hyacynth starting bloom and two tulips
starting to open they are red and yellow in my front graden today

i know he lets me get away with anything. xx
