my second lot of germinating toms are looking more healthy ive had them in the airing cupboard.

i have a blackcurrent bush that has gone downwards into my water butt and grown roots on so that can get planted and past on.

im still getting potato plants growing in my pea and carrot bin lol, and i have lost my sprouts, dont know where they are lol

and i have 1 yello stick coming up from my sweetcorn tray yippee

strawberries are doing well no fruit yet but plants nice and green

ive got lots of honeysuckle that is every green and smell lovely if anyone wants some

joan sent me some snow drops from scotland, so can be done ish lol

Morning all Fred is up and about already ,my two rose bush replacement found ,my onion plant's ditto and other seeds to put in ,so ,i issss goin' to be very busy today.
Cauli' can be very iffy to grow Puss,they like you he he are very fussy and like tons of looking after which is why the ones in shops and supermarkets are so dear,brussel the farmers throw in ,and apart from plenty of water ,will do well on any soil. but cauli have to be well cared for.
Nice ,rich soil which needs to be hard or they tend to bolt, water lack of has the same effect,most of all plenty of lime in the soil to help prevent club root.
Most of all ,select an Australian Breed ,Dok Elgon ,Barrier reef .candid Charm ,something like that ,the old english sort ,all year round ,yuk,pluddy awful,lol
A splash of lime down the hole as you pland + s tad of rhubarb stem [the acid keeps the wireworm away] and orf you jolly well go.
As with all Brassica ,once in ,heel the soil down with the back of your shoe ,they like hard soil ,and struggle to grow otherwise.Fred :-D :-D

Puss, Foxgloves are poisonous, however you are ok as long as they don't get eaten so watch animals and children, there's more on poisonous plants including foxgloves here

I should think if all that grows Puss you are going to be kept busy but full marks for trying it all. We don't have room in our garden for so much.

sounds good chris, i have some nettles that grow around a holly bush i am growing, dosnt matter what i use i get nettled or stabbed.

ive dandelion leaves and plants growing in my polly tunnel, im so sill i hate chucking them knowing some domestic rabbit could be munching on them

well for the first tim,e ive planted some cauliflower seeds and some more sweetcorns did really well a few summers ago with them

WEEDS - there must be those amongst us who for various reasons have back/knees/getting up problems - wave byebye to these. OH went to Robt Dyxxn for some odds and ends and returned home yesterday with a FISKERS
WEEDER. We had rain yesterday so whilst I am still in bed this morning awaiting assistance to dress I am suddenly confronted with OH carrying a bucket. With his grubby fingers he is showing me the length of the weeds his new gadget has pulled out of lawn!!!

He is delighted - filled half a bucket in about 5 minutes - roots of weeds - some 4-5" long complete with tap roots came out clean as a whistle.

Think they are about £40 but are on offer of £29.95

rose we have our back gravelled , i had some cornflowers growing in pots, they have seeded themselfs in the gravel, im creating a wooded affect area so may leave mine in.

I have a weeping willow tree, just tried a few twigs and they have grown roots, was shocked at that, so if anyone at judes meet wants a weepy tree i will bring them, ive bought some follycower seeds to try in a hessian sack i got from pound line. :-D

BC. Chop up some Banana Skins and bury them with or alongside it,or buy some Top Rose and sprinkle around the base.then if dry water in.**M**. :-D

Good idea Ann :-D I shall do that and put them on freecycle, someone might like them. I did that with a load of montbretia bulbs and out of date seed packets a few weeks ago and they were snapped up straight away :-D

How about taking them out and potting them on into small pots then asking around if there is anywhere they can be planted?

:-| I was just going to go out and potter in the garden, beautiful blue sky, sun, pleasant breeze ...and within seconds clouds covered the sky and the rain came down in stair-rods :-P

I did get to notice that something was growing, a few little seedlings dotted here and there and I wondered what I had put in that spot...but, they are sycamores seeded from the trees in the playpark. I hate taking growing things out but they can't stay :-(

yes broken up tea bags are good and also, as Fred has said dried chicken manure pellets. Ours comes in large drums, not sure if you can get small bags.

if you have roses.......... they love tea! tip the teapot out, even throw used teabags around them :-D

but don't do what a girl I used to work with did...... she asked me to look at her plant....... it stank! She was giving it her left over tea............ from her cup, with milk and sugar :-0 :-( :-(

for a second at least ,Joking aside ,it's good stuff ,but i don't want the police at my door for sending perfumed gear through the post without a licence,so when you get it ,please do not use on a windy day to avoid breathing dust in ,and wear gloves to prevent ingestion ,both can give rise to illness.or cause you to grow feathers :-).
Been using both around my garden for years ,both veggies [most any anyway] love it and all flowers seem to thrive on it ,apart from lime haters.Fred. :-D

Plenty of horse poo B C or chicken poo and a regular feed ,foliar if you can find some ,watered over the leaves and soil every month,it should do very well,and will give the birds somewhere to nest ,Fred :-D
