Rose I hate to say but I think if you don't get rid of every last piece of elder you will always have it springing up. Sorry

:-( :-( :-(

Oh yes Tose, it is like Lesley said. You must get out every single last bit.
remember the maxim:- 1 years seading, 7 years weeding.
Perhaps you could get some help when it is Bob-a-Job week. Or, approch the Prison Service or Social Services and ask for a young Residavist, to help you, and get some work experience.

Hope they didn't get the potatoes then Puss!!!

I realised that you had not had much sleep as you were posting on here at some stupid o'clock. I find if I go on the pc before going to bed, I can't get to sleep.

OH is working hard out in the garden today mending his tomato 'whirlygig'.

Just been down the garden, and my Minature Weeping Willow, has Pussy Willows on it. So pleased to see it has survived the Winter.

Oh that is good news Julia.

I was looking at the helebores earlier and they are not as good this year, some of the flowers are a lot smaller than usual, I suppose we have to pay for the weird weather.

T has spent all morning mending his whirligig for his tumblers. Think he has got it fixed now. I just did half an hour tidying the front, mainly getting seedling weeds out of the gravel which replaced the lawn.

Julia Report 26 Feb 2012 12:59

Ann I meant to say yesterday when you posted, please give your OH 10/10 from me for designing the Tumbler Whirly. It sounds a wonderful idea. Perhaps he should patent it, and then you could laugh all the way to the bank LOLOL

Just in from gardening in the sunshine and I was amazed to see so many honey bees on the crocus although only 1 or 2 of the very big bumble bees.

I had a smile on my face when I saw that my camellia (one I dug up from my mums garden before we sold her house after her death) is just bursting it's buds also my anemone's have survived another winter and are just starting to flower. Yes.

After the couple of day's sun and warm weather we were able to get the grass cut so things are looking good.

RamblingRose how is your eye much better I hope.

Ann I would love a handyman OH

Lesley, I am hanging on to mine as long as I can. All day he was out there, I was up here doing a scarp book page and he was supposed to have come in. When I went down he was cleaning the conservatory windows!!

Ann. My OH Clean windows mine wouldn't know where to start, I'm so jealous, I've always said hubby would buy me the moon if he could, but if he had to put it up well that's a different story.

Well An n In Glos..my Hellebores are later than usual, but mega with blooms, including one that we bought 2 years ago which looks like a lotus flower and has bloomed all during the snow and is still going . As for elder there seems to be no quick fix, I have it in our garden, and if it is in the gardne next door, it will just creep back...just keep digging it out, or if able use round up when there isn't anything else to damage Jan in Norfolk

AnninGlos Report 26 Feb 2012 16:45

puss n daughter....you will find that moles only get together to procreate...the rest of the time they are on their own..know all of this becos living where we do we get loads....if you get a bad infestation,,unfortunately the only way is to get a pest control guy in....can be expensive tho. there isnt a humane way sorry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
