*shocked.......Gosh! you are all still here! :-D :-D Great poem, Rose, thanks! And, Ann, my spirits are always high..it is an affliction I have to bear! :-D :-D

Good poem Rose.

Music I have actually thought about but not really come to any conclusion. I have a few hymns in mind and maybe Over the rainbow. But hopefully I have long enough to change my mind. *(she says with a mammogram looming on 10 February and being halfway through doing the bowel cancer test)

Well Ann I am arriving to 'Ferry me cross the Mersey', then later in service 'You'll never walk alone' both by Gerry and the Pacemakers and when everyone is leaving - a piece of jazz player by John Crocker etc - something to skip out to! Dau will have a fit! But she hasn't listened to Mummy - OH and son know!!!

Am listening to Walk alone at the moment!

I'd like Billy Eckstine with "No one but you"

my lovely OH singing with his choir - Pendyrus Male Choir - "Sunset Poem" by Dylan Thomas

and for a hymn, "How great thou art"

and maybe to leave the church or the crem - Scott Joplin "The Sting"

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Jan 2012 15:01

I have considered you'll never walk alone and if I loved you but I think if I went first that would be too much for OH as Carousel was 'our' film and if I loved you was our song.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 18 Jan 2012 15:02

Pendyrus do "If I loved you"

that is the male voice choir is it Ann. I have the CD from the film with Gordon Macrae.
I have a feeling that Voices of the valley also do it.

For the paltry few who will be there to hear them, my choices would be Harry Nillson, youre breaking my heart (google the lyrics :-D ), ernie and as my ashes are blasted out of a shotgun cartridge into the sky, the strains of the lion sleeps tonight by tight fit, cos I liked the video.

:-D :-D :-D

Ann- my attachment is that I crossed the Mersey many times from Wallasey to Liverpool on the ferry to my gparents and Walk Alone is also known as the Liverpool Hymn!

Just listening to the Ventures 1960 - Walk don't run - wonder if that would be appropriate???? ;-)

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 18 Jan 2012 15:23

'Light My Fire' by Jose Feliciano and then for my son, 'No Charge' :-D :-D

My old lad told me ages ago he wants Joe Jackson's 'Steppin Out', so whenever I hear it I get a lump in my throat :-(
