ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 17 Jan 2012 20:29

I'd love to think I'd meet up again with my beloved OH, and my lovely Mum and Dad, and close friends I have lost over the years but somehow I think that's just wishful thinking

I do wish I could believe it and I do go to church but I just can't get my head around it - I'm not afraid to die - some time back now [and I'm not asking for sympathy here by the way] I decided to end it all and took a massive overdose - woke up a couple of days later. Now if dying is like that it'll be good :-)

ButtercupFields Report 17 Jan 2012 20:54

I hope it will be even better next time, Ann :-)

Eldrick....am so very tempted but my old doggie would have a fit...let's wait until she er...'shakes off her wotsit' ;-)

I'm not frightened of death - after all we have no choice. I'm just scared of the process that leads up to it. All I ask is that I have time to say goodbye to my family before I gently leave them :-)

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 17 Jan 2012 21:01

Hello Sue :-) I have always said I will need two weeks notice. Not much to ask for is it...lol.....

AnnCardiff Report 17 Jan 2012 21:04

I would like it to be in my own bed, peacefully

Two weeks notice? No not too much to ask for at all :-D

"...about death or dying? Or are you too young to even consider it! "

Woody Allen is quoted as having said “I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens.” :)
Well, one does have to be there at the time, and I hope that it will be painfree.

No one is too young; the grim reaper unfortunately does not take age into account.

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 17 Jan 2012 21:12

Good quote, Joy...but I never thought about death or dying when I was young. It is just as you get older, or in my case, very old, that it seems to follow you around somewhat, thumbing its nose! lol

:-) :-)

Wend Report 17 Jan 2012 21:15

Well, looking at my recent ancestors, a lot of them 'fell off their perches' ages circa 65-70, so please be nice to me for a while (ahem, I'm 64 and a half, well nearly) ;-)

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 17 Jan 2012 21:16

AnnCardiff Report 17 Jan 2012 21:25

I watched my lovely Dad die, he looked very peaceful indeed when it happened, just slipped away

My husband on the other hand died fighting for breath - that was not nice to watch - absolutely gut-wrenching - fortunately a shot of morphine did the trick and he was at peace

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 17 Jan 2012 21:29

Thank goodness for morphine then, although I have a bad reaction to it. On the other hand, I will probably not mind the halucinations when the time comes :-)
