A medical board/illness board is a recipe for disaster ...i totally agree..

I will say that as was the case before...if there was a thread that interested me on General....a debate usually...I wouldn't hesitate to contribute if i felt like it...regardless of spending most of my time on chat.

I'd still cherry pick when and where I chose to post without fear or favour..x

Rose and Stray - re childbirth - 'you will forget the pain when you hold your baby in your arms' (they are still saying that today.

Cobblers - my youngest of two (aged 51) I can recall both labours as if they happened yesterday and little wonder I can hear myself saying throughout the last labour over and over again - 'never again, never again' and I didn't!! :-P

Muffyxx Report 15 Mar 2012 14:22

Muffyxx Report 15 Mar 2012 14:33

I always recommend the epidural to any new mum that asks.

Shame it didn't work the second time for me (well only down one side anyhow lol)..but I don't tell them that....because the time it did work was blissful !!! ...but I only comment when asked. ..and if i elaborate further my worst comment is *it's a bad day then it's over* x

StrayKitten Report 15 Mar 2012 14:40

oh i wouldnt have one of those wanted to be home asap, altho had to stay in 3 days :-|

i think it could get silly with 2 many boards, i think people forget its a genealogy site, not just a simple internet forum,if they want hundreds of seperate boards they should go on freinds reunited, digital spy or the likes,

unless they wana add a board just for me, "strays board" yes i think it has a ring to it ;-)

supercrutch Report 15 Mar 2012 16:55

Just got home from house, tell you later :-D

I had to trawl through the contents of merged boards as usual whereas before it changed I could pick up threads of interest PDQ.

Now I lose the will to live skipping over the dross :-P

Bring back the mad chat board!!!!!

ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 15 Mar 2012 17:09

I'd be happy to have the two separated again.

Wrt labour, after having my first, I insisted on having an epidural with my second. Btw I went home the next day after my second but was in 4 days with my first.

STREEEEECHES

that was a nice nana nap

first child was in hospital a week before
and had a 3 hour labour baby 11lb 1oz 24 inches long
but had to stay in 16 days after

second was in a month
two hour labour preterm baby 9lb 3 oz 19 inches long
and stayed in for 14 days

ChrisofWessex Report 15 Mar 2012 17:26

Last labour was 28 hours and a dry one at that! In those days gas & air. I ate it but do not recall it did much good!

Threw GP as I asked to see the placenta - said I'd missed it the first time and there wasn't going to be another. When he realised I was genuinely interested he did show and explain all - said first time he had been asked that one!

I stand by everything I said all the way back in Jan.....A professional mourners board and leave the gloom and doom circle to inflict their misery on one and another on there.

Evening everyone :-D
