Thank you Ann and thanks for the ideas. I probably will go my own way but maybe not, for a change! :-D

OK I'll jump in just found another site I used to use.

Words
Shed, nervous, read. Post Office, excitement, turn. Garden centre

First lines of a story
The lights appeared out of the darkness.
The scent of lavender was overpowering.
This wasn't where he wanted to be.

Title
Silent Moments

Edit: choose one of them or do like Jan and put some together. She's clever that lady!

lol never been in charge of anything me ;-)

I think the main problem is that we all come and go rather a lot, and some who look at the board for ideas don't necessarily add ( either because they can't, not being paying members at the moment, or just time constraints).

I think it's probably better if individual members make one list of say 8 words ( or whatever number) and add to the thread, ie if Ann posts 8 words this week and Jan does next and so on...that way no one is waiting for someone to be around to add their coupe of words?

As always everyone is welcome to add ideas, even if they are not used immediately we can look back when hit by writers block lol.

Nudge for Rose to see.

AnninGlos Report 7 Mar 2012 08:50

No, you didn't get it wrong at all, that was me saying Rose??? to get her to agree or disagree. Not Rose???? she is not in charge Lol!!!

It might be a bit difficult to organise, who suggests the words? Those who write or both those who write and those who read? And how do we get everyone to respond? A time limit?

Greenfingers Report 7 Mar 2012 08:46

Sorry did I get that wrong, I though you and Rambling Rose, were the instigators of this thread, if not I profusely apologise...........if I could get on my knees I would !!!!!!!!!! Ha Ha......Not possible since my operation ! Still haven't seen anything from Peter

Rose????

Greenfingers Report 6 Mar 2012 19:36

Yes Ann thats exactly what I mean, we could have the formula of either descriptive words, people, places, emotions and suggest that we pick 3 for instance from the list..I think it would work, and also would make us use the dictionary to stretch our imaginations........just a thought. leave it to you and Rose

Ah thanks Rose, didn't want to think I may have missed commenting.

Morning Ann, Cat sent me a link to her own blog, and asked for my opinion on her first piece on it. I'm hoping she will join us when she has a bit of time :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 5 Mar 2012 12:20

I am a bit confused. Has Cat sent a piece out? If so I haven't received it.

Jan, could work, you mean each suggest a word to be used in a piece?

Greenfingers

Greenfingers Report 5 Mar 2012 11:52

From a very wet and extremely windy Norfolk

Another suggestion............

There are enough of us, we could all suggest a word and then we could take out three or 4 that appeal

Good luck with the job hunting Cat, not easy !

ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 4 Mar 2012 22:31

Thanks, Ann, glad to hear it, I don't always do too well with set in stone :-D

Thanks, Rose :-) No rush on the feedback, I just realised I hadn't asked for any this time.

I'll probably only join in occasionally, at least to start with as job hunting is proving to be a full time job. Just a pity I don't get a full time wage for it ;-)

~~~ to both, just trying to catch up with reading ( please let me know if I have missed out on commenting on your work), and sent out a poem also.
Cat, as Ann says we often do our own thing, lol well I do, take bits of one topic and cobble them together with something else ;-)
I have read your blog, so will PM you, but may not be tonight as I'm sniffling and sneezing at the moment and 'might' get an early night.
AnninGlos
AnninGlos Report 4 Mar 2012 22:10
Cat, yes you can with that one as it was in two parts.
*whispers And we often do our own thing anyway, nothing is set in stone! :-D
ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 4 Mar 2012 21:21
Oh, and did you get chance to read that story? It doesn't matter if you didn't but feed back would be appreciated if/when you get time.
ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 4 Mar 2012 21:19
Hi Rose :-D
I've been reading through the thread. Wrt the scenarios...is it possible to take inspiration from them but not use every little aspect. For example, I like BC's dark stormy night complete with false teeth and red lipstick but wouldn't necessarily want to have to use the bus driver bit that Ann added.
