and have sent PMs to ZZzzz, Greenfingers and Dermot, if I've missed anyone or anything out ( quite probably lol) please let me know.

Very good Ann :) and perhaps for those who are already writing about family:

A place or person from your childhood, or your family tree :)

Just got in ( cold out there! ) so will send a letter out in a bit to current members and this list of topics to those who have responded ( and other new members who might turn up in the interrim).

Here we go then try one of these.

1. two characters, a bird watcher and a smuggler. The conflict is a conspiracy of silence. The weather is a thunderstorm. the setting a boxing match and the object to be included is a car battery.

2. Two characters are a pensioner and an 8 year old child. The conflict is uncovering a secret. The weather is fog. The setting is a family meal and the object to be included is a severed finger.

Or
A Brief encounter
A children’s story using snow, a lake, a horse and a dog.
A poem for January.

OK. Rose for the first topic. Give me two numbers from one to six please. I have a 'fiction square in front of me. These numbers will give the two characters in a story.

lol sorry Ann, I was typing away there while you posted :)

Perhaps a short list of topics to set us off for the new year, so that we are all doing the first pieces 'together' so to speak?

If it's ok with all I shall ask new members to send me an email address they are happy to use to send and receive,( or whether they would prefer to use PMs for now) and then send out a letter to all current members to check that they are happy to share their email details also?

Welcome Jan.

Rose are you going to put the basics on here? i.e. are we reverting to sending something/anything out at weekends or are we going 'free flow' which is what we have been doing lately.

I assume you will pm new people with the e mail addresses of those members who are still active if theyw ant to do it that way. We really need to know who is sending/receiving by e mail and who by PM don't we?

Greenfingers

Greenfingers Report 2 Jan 2012 16:59

Excellent Dermot ! :-D

Ann , if there is some good advice in there please forward snippets, and any suggestions for topics would be welcome I'm sure even if I never stick to them lol.

ZZzzz it would be lovely if you share some of your writing, we have all done bits of writing on our family history I think, it often gives a bit of encouragement or a new idea of how to set it down.
