Just heard from daughter re her appointment. She was second on the list and they were already running an hour late. Good news and frustrating waiting news really. This is what she told us.

The good news is that the tumour was small as they thought from the scan and they were able to completely remove it with a clear margin. So that means they do not need to do any further surgery.

Also of the 14 nodes removed only the first (or “sentinel”) node had any cancer cells. The others were all clear which is good.

The nurse checked the scar and said it is healing well, and the swelling is normal fluid retention. As long as it doesn’t get any bigger she recommended leaving it to reabsorb on it’s own which it should do over the next few weeks.

The next step is an appointment with the Oncologist which will probably be in 2 weeks to talk through the benefits and risks of Chemo specifically in relation to her type of disease and age, and decide if she wants to have Chemo, or just the Radiotherapy. So more waiting, and a difficult decision ahead.

So please continue those thoughts which seem to be working well.

Thank you Ann.

Thanks wendy, of course I know that. Just been chatting via e mail and she sounds fine. Told her to forget all about it until she goes for her appointment in two weeks (if she can). How are you? Look forward to your e mail.

Just had an e mail from daughter, she feels fine, doesn't have any effects from the anaesthetic and slept well, and is not too sore.
