I was fascinated by Lady Mary as she appeared to have lost her buzzoms since the last series...there was not even a sign of em! :-D Yes, yes I know I shouldnt be peering at ladies buzzoms but it looked so odd!! :-D :-D

But I thoroughly enjoyed the whole proprammeg and look forward to next Sunday. Maybe Mary will have sprouted some by then..... :-D :-D :-D

I watched it, brilliant as always. I love these sort of period dramas as long as they are well executed. Can't fault this one in any shape or form. Lady Mary in her wedding dress bought a tear to my eye

I was put off by the flesh too Vera, he's certainly run to fat since Lark Rise days lol I suppose he can't get around much with that stick lol so doing little exercise.

He was a bit pompous in Lark Rise but I still enjoyed his scenes.

Sadly I think you are right Rita, and there are to be no more Lark Rise series.

Thought it was good last night. Perhaps there is something in that maid and master story although I always thought that in the bad old days such rellationships tended to be abusuive and the Master could never be that.
(love Hugh Bonneville).

Couldn't stand Mr Bates in Candleford - pompous prat then. Loved him with the maid in Downton until arrgh the bed scene. Too much flabby flresh - much better all done up in his suit.

I did wonder why eldest daughter (terrible remembering names - Mary I think) wore that flimsy frock for the funeral. Maybe they ran out of coats on set.

Can't wait for the Christmas special.

hello all,

poor Bates but could see it coming. I think Ellen should get
her job back to help her out, Thomas well you can see where
thats heading, glad the maid has left those scenes made me
cringe although no doubt it happened all over with the gentry.

Looking forward to Xmas special now.

Poor Mr Bates, is he off to be in another Lark Rise series do you think lol?

I was sad for Ellen with little Charlie, hoped things would work out happily there. Sad that Lavinia died but good that Sybil got the blessing to go off with her chauffeur.

Thomas - ugh, slimy chap, glad he got his comeuppance with the black market stuff tho, served him right.

Will miss watching this series.

Nasty Thomas has got his feet under the table - silver needs to be locked up.

AnninGlos Report 6 Nov 2011 22:53

I think we are led to believe that Lavinia gave up because she had lost Matthew and that is why she died.

I would like someone to turn up at Downton who saw Thomas deliberately hold his hand up above the trench, and spill the beans.
