I glanced at the clock at just before 9 pm and had a little thought to myself of Deanna and her family. Tony is really struggling as is Allan, with so much to arrange and deal with, and it sounds as tho lots of people are visiting and making contact so they are very busy. I hope they will have a chance to get some rest before Wednesday so they can be strong for each other.

Caz, I will try and ring you this week.

I am still thinking of Deanna - I found the photo I took of her when I visited, and she looked so cheerful, bless her. Little did we know what the future held and how sad we would all be.

Lizxx

Can I just say thanks for all the pms and emails I have had in support? It's really kind of you folk to care for me and I am sorry I haven't got round to answering everyone.

A belated thank you, Liz. Deanna was one of the brightest stars on the GR anxiety thread, and struggled through her health problems with great courage.

Thank you to Liz for being a good contact for all this sad news and to Dutch (Joyce) for her organising of the donation and previous flowers. I had not heard of the charity but it sounds a worthwhile one and it is good that it is one that Deanna supported. She was the same age as me, no age really. I hope that Tony and allan are managing to cope with all the arrangements and flood of visitors, correspondence etc. I shall be thinking of them tomorrow.

Joyce, what lovely words, thanks for your kind thoughts and for the beautiful things you said about our Deanna.

I think we will be united in our thoughts at 1.30 today as we remember our friend and as you say, wish her Farewell - we will meet her again one day.

My dear Deanna, you who made me proud to be your friend xx

I will always treasure the precious moments we shared, the fun and laughter times when we each needed a boost and frequently ended up quite zany. I believe some people thought we had lost our marbles but feel that they enjoyed reading our postings, and because of your kindly, compassionate and caring nature you endeared yourself to so many people.
I will not say goodbye because it isn't, I take great comfort in thinking you are taking a long overdue holiday that you richly deserve, that you are just changing where you reside, not who you are or your friends and family are. The next phase of your life will be the most exciting and happy times for you and I know I will see you in the future and to take up where we left off....

You will be remembered as your life being full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs, today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you...God's speed on your journey and peace be yours my friend..I will never forget you...forever, Joyce xxxxx

Goodbye my friend for the time being. When I told you my bad news you jumped straight in and promised to be my rod and staff and see me through it. Someone had a different agenda and it was not to be. But like I told you in my last message to you, when you lay in hospital. You better bloody be there waiting for me when my time comes. I am going to miss you and our conversations on Skype so much. But I will remember your wit and the laughs we had and I am glad you are no longer suffering the pain, even though it meant you having to leave this world. You touched my life and enriched it and for that I will be eternally grateful..

With my love

Thinking of Deanna, and her family and friends coming together to pay their respects and say their farewells as she moves to a better place. No more pain and suffering, meeting with those gone before who I hope have surrounded her with the same love she had here and that she gave to others with unselfishness and kindness and that humour which was Deanna's special quality.

Always remembered, dear friend, a one off and we are so lucky we had her in our lives.

Rest in Peace, Deanna, life's work well done.

Love,
Lizxxx

Sending special thoughts to her beloved menfolk, Allan and Tony, their hearts will be heavy but their memories will help them through I hope.

Ann has said it, there is not much else I can say, apart from we have lost a treasure of a lady, she was so funny and loveable and without a bad bone in her body,we will miss her. Joyce said everything I was thinking so I will leave it at that. I was thinking of her and Allan and Tony this afternoon, wishing I could be there for her.
Rest in Peace Deanna.

For those of you who don't know me, I "met" Deanna the first day she came on the boards. We were both new to it all and struck up an instant friendship. All of you who knew her will know what I mean when I say that I felt as though I'd known her all my life.

I never met Deanna in person - I stupidly thought I had all the time in the world - but was very pleased to be able to go to her funeral today and sit with Jane who was representing you all. It was a very brief service and the chaplain told us a little of Deanna's early life, most of which I didn't know. For someone who could talk to Olympic proportions she certainly kept quiet about her talents!. But that was our Deanna - always more interested in others than herself.

Understandably Tony and Allan were very upset but they did her proud. What lovely men and it was a pleasure to meet them even though it was under such sad circumstances. I can see now why she adored them so much. They have been very comforted by the messages and emails from everyone and to see how many people loved Deanna.

Our inboxes are going to seem very empty now but our hearts will remain full of her friendship, laughter and love.

God bless you Lovely Lady.
Love and hugs always.
Daisy
