Phew!!

Celery.

Now, what has happen to the luverly, white, crisp, fat, sticks of Celery that you used to buy........all covered in black dirt?

All that seem's to be on offer these days are green, rubbery sticks which i don't actually buy........because it taste nothing like Celery!!

When my Mum bought Celery, she would give it a good old rinse and then pop in in a jug of water to keep fresh on the kitchen window sill.
The smell was quite pungent.
It's nothing like that now. Boo Hoo!

If it's not too late to add my view on celery.......*chortles at Prickles*........they used to have string down the stalks which I didn't much like but now they have ROPE!!!
I think the green is tastier than white these days but nowt tastes like it did in the olden days because it is all forced to maximise profits and there's too many people to feed. Ye olde earthing up takes time and time is money

Bob, I always sniff tomatoes, if it doesn't smell like a tomato it isn't going to taste like one and I don't buy.

Did Wend want to talk about cucumbers or just wave it about? :-0 :-D

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 28 Jul 2011 10:41

Island........please pay attention!!

Yesterday was Celery Day..........today its Spring Onions.
You and Bob have moved on to Tomatoes........but Tomatoe Day is not until tomorrow!!

And then their's Wend who has just willy nilly waved her cucumber around for no apparent reason.

I am left wondering if Dizzi planted her Spring Onions too close to her Beetroot!

:-0

DIZZI

DIZZI Report 28 Jul 2011 10:48

JUST COZ YER NEVER SEEN A RED BOING ONION

Island

Island Report 28 Jul 2011 11:08

It's shambolic Prickles, Ah say Sham bolic! :-

'Wend waving a cucumber willy nilly' *sniggers*
I've never known willy nillying so much as on GR! I don't hear it anywhere else :-0

There was some pink mushrooms on t'internet - 'gourmet', gourmless more like, fools and their money are soon parted. So Dizzi can have red spring onions
