Oh dear the circus has begun. So very sad.

I live within 5 minutes of where Amy lived. I was asked by 4 separate people for instructions how to get to Camden Square. Saw on the news dopplegangers of her.

No doubt the papers will be full of scandal over the next few days.

The poor child has died, let her rest in peace.

I loved her music. I wish she could have kicked the habits but sadly she couldn't and now she's gone.

I think we all have our addictions; some are more harmful than others.

Footy and soaps is mine, drink and drugs was a very close relative' friend of mine and he hung himself two weeks ago...in his 20's

Another very close friends son, slit his wrists about two months ago and was found in the woods by a dog walker....drugs

I also have two close mates who are drugs workers and I have heard so many harrowing stories, I would never judge...never

I teach students in FE/HE and I see the affects of drugs, I would never judge my students, I have heard such sad stories during tutorial

To simply say...you brought it on yourself, it was expected, is thoughtless and ignorant

To anyone who thinks addiction is not an illness, you are correct in your assumption, however it is a symptom to an illness, Depression in all it's shapes and forms. I am not talking mild depression which we all suffer from time to time, but something that comes with daemons so horrific that the drugs or alcohol become a crutch to get you through the day. To the outside world it is obvious that it is not working but to the sufferer it means an obliteration of what is happening in their minds at any given time. The road to recovery is very steep and very slippery. It involves dealing with the root cause, the depression, facing the daemons and coming to terms with them. This in itself is extremely difficult.
Celebrity is a job which is exploited by the media, and who exploits the media to satisfy the curiosity of the general populous. What is portrayed in the media is a mixture of truths, half truths, lies and conjecture.

Amy Winehouse had a family who loved her unconditionally, whose worst nightmare has been realized. She was an enormous talent. RIP Amy

Oh I don't know if it is newsworthy particularly but she was a very talented young lady and, despite the fact that she may have brought this on herself, it's a shame when any youngster dies so early, whether they are a singer or a soldier.

Money and fame just hasten a decline in those who cannot cope. Poor girl, I sure this not what her family wished for her.

Its very sad that she has died,no matter how or why, she vwas a talented singer who lost her way in life,just celebrate her music,not the fact that she should,nt have taken drugs ,( which they assume killed her) any blame or Ire should be heaped upon the person or persons who introduced her to these things.Personally I hope they and all like them Rot in Hell. Irene, I get what you are saying. Comedian Dave Allen died around the same time as my Dad, and Dad love watching Dave Allen, so at least I know he'll be having a good laugh.

and in view of our love of Amy s and in particular my husbands love of all and any music -- or so it seemed to me


Thought it was somewhat .....................................which is why I posted ..

Grief is an odd emotion -- hopefully not experienced to many times for us all
