I feel it is sad that her fans/friends found it necessary to leave offerings of alcohol etc.

Me neither! But,personally,I think it should have stayed as it is always interesting to see how much compassion, or lack of, there is on GR.

It was'nt me!!

l still say you have no compassion ..... free speech is allowed... hence my posting. But l do feel you did'nt have to be quite so unkind. The dealers are the scums!!

My recent posting on this subject was the subject of a complaint and it has been removed. It appears free speech is no longer allowed in this country.

Will the person who complained have the courage to identify themselves and speak to me man to man or woman to man as the case may be.

There is to be a private burial today, Tuesday, in accordance with Jewish religion/tradition.

I do hope the cameras keep away and let the family grieve in private, but I doubt it.

She lived her life in the camera, and they will probably follow her coffin too.

RIP

Like I said several pages ago, anyone's young life that is lost is very sad.

Some people may hasten it on themselves - but that's not to say they wish to do so. I do think some of them truly don't believe that their actions may be so
dangerous, sadly we oldies know that this isn't necessarily the case.

It doesn't matter what anyone's experiences of this are, it is a sad day when a youngster dies. It's not a race. I have many friends in similar desperate situations and thank heavens they are all still with us.

Ice please accept my condolences.

I said I am keeping away from the Square because I do not want to get involved in the Circus. I would love to go and see the flowers, but I dont like the cameras there all the time. I do hope people are there for the right reasons. I am sure that most of them are.

I dont know if I can say I was a fan, because at my age, I feel a little silly saying it. I loved her voice, I have her albums and I sing along to all of them. I watched her in concert on the tv.

I just think it is a very sad end to a very short life.

Ice Yes I know also about the Norway tragedy and that to me really is a tragedy because those people who died didn't do anything to deserve but
this thread is for Amy and no matter what, everybody is entitled to a memorial,
sorry that I answered others

RIP Amy

Im shocked some members are saying if she wasnt famous she wouldnt be remebered on here.

I have only been a memeber since 2009 but i have seen many people post messages of remembrance regarding everyday folk.

If she was a GR loved one or friend there would of been a post of remembrance to her on here.

And thats all im going to say on the matter.

Well i think TootyFruity summed it all up and how true where sad when anyone passes away. And we look and think how lucky we are. their is someone on here who just lost someone as well and must be really hurting but she still found time to say some kind words.

thoughts to you and your family at this sad time.

Comparisons are odious and this one particularly so.

This thread is about Amy it isn't a competition about whose death should be most regretted.

Ginny, That's my point, If Amy was Amy smith the girl next door she would not of been remembered on a GR thread.

I just think that their is more compassion and sympathy expressed for people with celebrity status than for people who live in the real world doing good things for all of us and not for status or money
but because they want to.

EDIT: Yes i do no that this thread is about Amy, but i was just making a point thats all

Ice I read that on the news somewhere, and if her body has been released then they are happy with the post mortem. ..Mind whatever they find they can probably put it down to drink or drugs and the toll they take on a body. It will only make a difference as to how the accidental death happened or natural causes (brought on by excess)

Porkie Pie Now I do agree with you that not enough is said about the lads killed in action, but a celeb can take the pages for days.

There was a meths drinker on the train once, nearly 30 years ago now, but I've never forgotten him, everyone ignored him... he had the eyes of a frightened child, he's probably dead now, if so I hope there was someone to grieve for him and remember him as he was before the drink got him... as i imagine Amy's parents will remember her.

There are others as you say Stan, whose story will never be told... the reasons why they started, the reasons they couldn't stop.... maybe Amy Winehouse's death will make one person stop and think before taking the first step to tragedy? or make one person make an effort to help in a practical way ?

Amy drank herself to death, I believe that is confirmed, although she had bought enough drugs to kill a mammoth maybe.

Burtons comment although harsh was a comment.
I can't help but wonder how many people would be flocking to the "RIP Amy" tribute if it wasn't for the fact that she was a "celeb". and I am not talking about on here.

Yes drugs and drink addictions are in there own way an illness and in the case of Amy and many like her the celeb status just enhanced the ability to cave to the weekness.
I have to wonder tho' how many of those who never met Amy but have laid flowers and visited her home would have done for the poor down and out in the street who died because of his/her drug/drink addiction.
Would it not be better for those who are spending pounds to visit /send flowers to send that money to the rehab centres. ..for those who can't afford the mega prices of the likes of Betty Fords clinics.

Before anybody jumps down my throat, my ex BiL committed suicide because of drink and drugs ... he couldn't get off them so rather than live in shame he killed himself . dying under a hedge.
A very good friend of mine died because of drugs when somebody set fire to the house he was sleeping in.

Amy in a way is like Marilyn Monroe a soul tortured by fame, who couldn't live with the fame that the talent created.

RIP Amy let your tormented soul find peace.

Post mortem inconclusive.

I personally think her heart just gave out. Too many strains on it over the years.

Poor parents coming around to see the 'shrine' that has been set up for her. As I said I am only a few streets away, and I am avoiding it because I dont want to get caught up in the Circus.

I wonder how many of the 'fans' camped out there are true fans, or are just hanging around in the hopes of getting themselves on the tv.

I echo others on this thread, no parent should have to bury their child.

Stan you were with her when she took " horse drugs " heresay !!!!
if she did die from drugs/ alcohol whats it got to do with anyone, it was her life and addictions she couldn't get rid of,anyone that looses there life for whatever reason l feel sad, am l'm wrong to feel that.
