Jules - do not forget freecycle - amazing what is given away if you have the means or someone to collect it for you. Might save you a bit of money.

There is in our area a charity which supply people in the same circumstances as your self. I know from donating things only items they will not take are tvs and gas cookers. See if you can find one in your area.

Social services must know if a similar charity.

Brilliant new Jules. Have you thought of asking SAAFA for help. Even though separated you are still an army wife. No harm in asking.

Hi Jules, I was so pleased to get your text message while I was away and hope the bungalow is all you want it to be and Melksham will wrap it's arms round you and make you feel at home.

Try the local Gumtree as well as Freecycle as there are lots of people who give away carpets etc or sell them for very little.

They might have a Homemaker type place in Melksham too, where people donate unwanted items and people on benefits can get the things free or cheap.

Will try and catch up with you during the week when I am on my own, stay positive, your new lift is just beginning.

Hi Jules,
I too have been following your thread, but not posted before.
I'm really pleased to hear the good news that you have finally got a new place to live. Hope you get the moving date soon, and that everything goes smoothly for you.

As for needing things like wardrobe, cooker etc, when you get moved in, why not sign up to Freecycle in your new area?
Its amazing what good stuff people give away on there.
You could get something from freecycle, until you are able to afford new things of your choice.

Thank you Ladies....
No news yet as to when I can view it...Its quite a way from here and I don't drive...My neighbour is on holiday until 26th so wont be able to take me...I have to go all the way back up there to collect the keys and can move in the same day...I think that is going to be a bit difficult to do it all in one day!!

I went into town yesterday and bought some new towels (pink), some new mugs, a door mat and a new iron...Still need some new pillows and an ironing board....Oh and not forgetting curtains, carpet, a wardrobe and a cooker!!! Dont know where I will find the money for those though...I have applied for a community care grant to help towards the cost of these things....Had a quote for moving and it will be £500......
