Gwyn in Kent Report 20 Jul 2011 07:08

Thanks Liz,
It's good to hear that Jules sounds OK and the hurdle of the dreadful Army 'march out' is behind her.
What happened to other people rallying to cut the grass, when the serving person is absent from the house?

We have even fewer buses here, but there is one advantage....You have to catch the same bus as other people, so you soon get to know 'regulars' who chat next time you see them.
Hopefully Jules can do the same there.

Had a chat with Jules last evening and she sounds perky. She should have internet connection on Thursday so hopefully she can get on here and keep us uptodate herself.

Her spare room now has a bed so she can have visitors which will be nice, apparently it's a bit quiet where she lives and the bus only runs once an hour!

She says there are other doctors at the practice so she will try a different one next time. She has enough meds for now so all ok.

The army house has been handed back so Jules is hoping there will be no charges on that from anything they aren't happy with. She cleaned it well but couldn't cut the grass before she had to come away so they might charge for that!

I think once she is happier with the surgery and knows a few more people, things will be fine.

I will try and phone Jules this weekend and see how she is doing.

Such a shame to burst her bubble when things were going so well

I will keep you posted, folks

I don't know how a GP can make a judgement without knowing the full picture, so I hope Jules can find a more sympathetic person soon.

Take care Jules.
We look forward to hearing about your new home when you can contact.

Seems rather a drastic step to take on first appointment. Especially as he hasn't got her notes yet, so is not fully informed.

I take anti d's and would be upset if taken off them with no warning.

Hope that she can sort it out soon. Perhaps a word with her old GP to speed up the delivery of her notes, and possibly to have a word to the new one.

Thinking of you Jules.

I saw a note on fb last evening from Jules, who must have got to the library, to say she came back from her new gp in tears, he hadn't got her notes through yet but has decided to take her off anti d's and lower some other meds she is on so she is very upset and worried. Seems he is concerned about the costs of her meds. She said he had the cheek to wish her well as she left.

Poor Jules, just as life was beginning to look up, hope she can see a different doctor at that surgery or find another surgery that will be better towards her.

I think Jules can work off her 'decent food' in the garden and walking Buddy or working the wheelchair if it's a manual one and she is feeling tired lol

"there's nowhere like home" so Jules enjoy every moment, be happy, remember that wonderful poem.

Take one step at a time and you will soon make new friends to add to your old friends, I shall keep you in my daily thoughts and prayers.

It's always an icebreaker if you walk a dog so I am sure Jules will soon get to know lots of people in her area which seems to be on the outskirts of Melksham. There's the summer to get out and about as much as Jules is able without a car and with her health problems but it gives her time to see what's on offer and get to know the local buses etc and local people and groups etc

I am sure this is the start of a good life for Jules and Buddy.

When Jules finds the library with internet facilities, she can read the messages and respond.
