oh gosh , it was the gujarati church of Canada in Colorado, save the date and all that.
I couldn't believe the radio program where the preacher had told his 7 year old son, they were going to heaven on Saturday. as I said how will they talk their way out of it

and
who's going to do my washing up now ?

Como?? The who church of what, then?

http://gujaratichurch.ca/

Seems a legit church, as much as most others. ;)

No mention of end times there! And one of its personnages underwent surgery earlier tihs month; now that would be o! he of little faith, I must say!

But it's in Brampton, one of those non-city cities surrounding Toronto ... I doubt most people in Colorado could find Canada on a map, let alone Brampton. I know I couldn't ...

The "visionary" was Harold Camping, and his ministry is called Family Radio Worldwide.

I guess most people in the world have been very wicked. Ah well, as an old music hall song (my mother or grandmother used to sing it) says, 'A short life and a gayeeee one.' But not so short.

I wonder if they were a day out. It is the evening of 22 May here and the weather is wild and woolly. Cold, heavy rain all day, strong gale force winds. One would think it was winter. Goodness that is nine days away yet. Can't have an end to the world, can't have our weather ordered to suit.

Signed, Aunty Sherlock, one of the wicked ones.

Anyway, the calendar has been mucked about with over the centuries, so how can anybody predict an exact day and time from the bible? IMO most people celebrated the beginning of the 3rd millenium A.D. a year too early, but then the dates are purely arbitrary. Maybe the end of the world is another millenium away.

Well then, one thing is for certain, none of us will live to see it.
