The good people at Genes Reunited are fixing an error when exporting GEDCOM files, but for some reason it is taking them a while to do. Meanwhile, some people may find the following 'workaround' useful. The problem is that the 'Occupation' information is wrongly put in the 'Occupation Place' field. You can overcome this by loading the GEDCOM file into MS Word and the use the find/replace command in Word as follows:
Find "1 OCCU ^p2 PLAC" (nb don't enter the quotes, and notice there are TWO spaces after the word OCCU but one space after the numbers 1 and 2.
then 'replace all' with
"1 OCCU". Then use the 'save as' command to save the file with a new name (just in case you made a mistake), not forgetting to use the 'filename.ged' format instead of '.txt' It will then load correctly into your pc genealogy software.
No doubt other word processors would similarly be used.
