I remember that reminiscence of your FIL when Margot' thread was posted last year

I have experienced "strange" things in the past, I won't lie to you, but I've always found a "normal" explanation......

Well Foggy, I have to agree in principle

Since tragic bathroom accident death of FIL I have had a few "paranormal" experiences,so has my wife.

Were I to outline the details most people would think I was making it up.

On a separate occaision while working night shift I was walking through a large locked garage that had only partial lighting.
An internal fire door that was chocked open slammed shut and an empty bottle on the floor spun!!
I got out pronto and didn't venture back in until daylight.

There is no proof that there is an after life, same as there is no proof that there is a god, and I expect if you are a believer, you will say that there is no proof there isn't.
I have no problem with people believing in ghosts, ghoolies, spirits, demons, angels, gods or whatever, if it keeps them happy so be it.

For myself, I do not believe in ghosts, spirits, ghoolies, gods, or any other form of spiritual or religious happenings.
I don't care what people believe in, so long as they don't try to preach their beliefs to me.

Nothing is tosh if someone believes in it..and if you havent experienced it then who can expect you to understand...I'm OK with that

Intresting thought Ginny,

Maybe we are not advanced enough to understand what is happening around us in the spirit world.

In the not so distant past our relatives lived without telephones, television electricity, x-rays, radio waves etc and the advances in medicine we have today were unheard of.
Just because people did not know of them didnt mean they didnt excist.
Things were just there waiting to be discovered.

No Ginny, but I like to be realistic, I see no point believing in something that has no substance or proof to it!

It's abit like believing in the tooth fairy, who leaves a quid under the pillow.Total tosh of course!

Is there 'proof' that there is no after life?

Dermot, I loved my gran very much and she loved all of her gchildren.

How would you feel if you were suddenly confronted by a close relative who had been dead for 11 years? Grow up and don't ask silly questions.

I honestly believe once your dead your dead, that's it!! It's amazing what we can imagine or believe we actually smelt something. There is normally always a plausible answer!!

Until there is conclusive "proof" of the after life, such as a photo or 3, I'm afraid I'll always be a sceptic.

No I don't believe in ghosts.

I'm not closed to the idea they may exist and some things have happened to me that COULD be viewed as spooky..but equally there could also be a perfectly rational explanation for them.

I've yet to be convinced though so I am firmly in the no camp until such a time as i am x
