"A" Sue............what sort of anagram is that! tut

SueMaid Report 22 Feb 2011 20:07

I agree with GR's policy on privacy. I really wouldn't want my private details given to anyone on the pretence they were worried about me. Having said that - I too am concerned as to why Julia hasn't contacted anyone.

As for the other person mentioned - if it's "A" then she has let her subscription lapse and is no longer a member.

Still no sign as yet then.......have to agree with the majority we cant do too much probing.........even though we all have a streak of the genealogy detective in our blood!! Just hope that she and family are OK....not too sure about the ban though.......is it not easy enough to open another account without being sussed??.......would think Julia would have been climbing the walls not being able to talk to her peeps!

Why am i always the slow one........cant think who is missing........can someone send me an anagram..........I am good at those lol

Take care everyone.......it's a jungle out there!

~~~~~~~ back to Island :)
Sue....... I think the lady in question is 'conspicuos' by her absence - surprised it hasn't been mentioned until now. But on the other-hand perhaps no-one wants to stir up a hornets nest lol
Sue Report 22 Feb 2011 18:37
Piers,
Funny you should say that, as it recently occurred to me the very same thing, another person, naming no names, appears to be 'missing'.
Maybe some were banned. I fail to see that Julia would be banned, I am worried about her.
I think we need Poirot and Morse.
Probably not Marion......Good idea though.
MarionfromScotland Report 22 Feb 2011 16:10
When I filled in the survey,one of the suggestions I made was to have a list of who has been banned and for how long.
I dont expect it will evr happen though.
To be honest I find the situation a little odd. I wasn't around at the time of the 'nasty' thread, but someone did pm me with the details. Since then - no Julia and someone who contributed to that thread has also gone missing I believe. So.... maybe GR did impose a ban?
Time to call in Inspector Morse maybe? Lol
AnninGlos Report 22 Feb 2011 15:35
I am sure that Julia would be thrilled to know that she had caused so much worry because she is missed. she wouldn't be annoyed. But I agree, she is within her rights to keep her privacy.
StrayKitten Report 22 Feb 2011 14:45
iv got to agree with you too ladies,
julia hasnt given out much info, and should not be contacted anymore i think delving into her private info would be crossing the line,
but i do hope she iwll be bck soon or contact somone xx
Island
Island Report 22 Feb 2011 14:39
To be honest, I agree with GR about privacy.
It seems Julia has not volunteered her contact info to anyone here (unless someone is, quite rightly, being descreet) I remember her being shocked to realise that her surname was displayed and quickly changed it.
I don't feel it is right to track her down. I'm sure she has family to look out for her if needs be and we should not cross the line from cyberspace into real life unless invited to do so.
Just my opinion btw
I think she would be amused by this thread though!
edit Ah BC, you nipped in ahead of me :-)
It HAS been a long time, Stray, but you know I would be reluctant to go any further than we have, in finding Julia. She has an OH and family I think, so if there is an illness, then she will be in good hands. I remember a much loved and respected GR member who was a regular contributor to these Boards. She simply disappeared from our lives and although we sent emails, and PMs, we never found out what had happened. Eventually, we had to let it go. Some people on here might remember Pat in Circles? I still miss her and her humour.
Anyway, this is just my opinion. I hope we can keep the thread going until the Grand Entrance of a fully fit and happy Julia....and with all our knitting finished:-) lol BCXX
i do hope shes ok, its been a long time since any one has heard from her :( x
MarionfromScotland
MarionfromScotland Report 22 Feb 2011 13:57
Maybe,just maybe they could contact her.
Then again maybe not. They cant get involved in peoples private lives I suppose.
I thought somebody on here would know her.
'Emma' Report 22 Feb 2011 12:10
hello all, it's a shame that the reply was not a bit more
forth coming, as you say Ann a "no need to worry" would
let us know something at least.
AnninGlos
AnninGlos Report 22 Feb 2011 11:53
That is what I thought you'd get Chris. It would have been nice if they had said 'no need to worry' or words to that effect wouldn't it?
Sylvia. We are not sure of the surname as she only has the initial letter when you PM. And, I think Julia may well have opted out of being on the electoral roll public listing so not sure we could find her that way. She is not, we don't think, in the phone book.
ChrisofWessex Report 22 Feb 2011 11:48
reply from GR it is not their practise to discuss members accounts! I never asked for her name, details of her account only if they could say whether or not she was on a ban and told them there was a thread running as people were concerned. Thanks GR
