Now I used to love the orange juice, better than any taste I can find now. There was also National Dried Milk for adult use, and a different one for babies. Even when I was in grammar school, I remember those of us who were thought a bit weakly used to line up outside the school secretarys office door for our daily spoonful of cod liver oil and malt. I liked that too. |

My grandfather used to drink TCP out of the bottle for bellyache.I think the reasoning was that what soothes on the outside must have a similar function inside. |

Rosehip syrup and orange juice, I can remember the taste. The syrup was lovely but the orange juice very tart. In the late 40's, early 50's we collected rosehips, which my Mother sent off somewhere. |

The red polish was called Cardinal. it used to tread everywhere if you trod on it before it was dry! There was a corridor in an army hospital where I was stationed, and it was polished with red cardinal. As the nursing staff also did the cleaning, I well remember swinging a bumper to shine it up, good for the waistline1 For those who dont know, a bumper was a heavy block used with a cloth to shine up, it was on a broom handle length handle and had a hinge at the business end so that you could swing it back and forth. |

Tried to get a tube of Germolene is T.....'s this morning. They only had the cream, which was disappointing. Didn't have time to go to a chemist. |
