Jean lovely to see you posting on here I send emails out about 10 days after each birthday to let people know what cards were received, because unfortunately some do get lost in the post. Just like the ATC swap, quite often get opened and the contents lost!! I have twice received empty envelopes with the contents removed!!
Ladies just to let you know that I have received a message from Maisie (Babs)....... She is very pleased to be home from her holiday they went with hubby's brother and his wife to celebrate her 'special' birthday in Tenerife, she has, unfortunately, had a terrible time. While they were away her BIL collapsed and Babs thought he had had a stroke, he refused to go with the medics to the hospital. Then her hubby had his wallet stolen with all their english cash in, just seems to be one thing after another. She said the food in the hotel was just awful but there were 90 steps for her to climb from their apartment to get to the hotel restaurant and so with her bad back and leg she could not climb them anyway so only managed to get to the restaurant on 4 occasion. But apart from all this she had lovely weather!!

Poor Maisie, I wonder what hotel she was in. I think they were possibly in South Tenerife as we are in the north. You have to be careful in all these places with wallets etc. Glad she had good weather though as the past ten days except for two days until a couple of days ago ours has been indifferent.

Hi all, So Jo, unless I am confused, it is your birthday today. I have sent you an e-mail, but thought others might like to be reminded of our No.1. Jo Jo having a birthday today. Jo Jo does such a wonderful job in keeping us all on our toes and reminded of us otherwise forgotten?? birthdays. Have a wonderful time Jo, The weather is certainly warmer, although for me could be warmer still. Lovely to see Jean posting here and introducing herself. When is the next posting Jean. More personal? How old are you, are you married? Perhaps you might not want to let us know, then please forgive me Jean. I am afraid that I don't mind these questions, but then I am not everybody. Weekend coming up so let us hope the weather is good. Love and best wishes Sylvia xxx

Morning Ladies, well here we are another monday morning. Just off to make some cards before going shopping, have a couple to get in the post today. Lovely morning again here not quite as warm as yesterday but the sun is shining what more can we ask. Garden is full of birds today although my robins are not here which is very strange as we always have robins here.
Have sent out the lists of cards received for Babs and Jill and will be sending out the lists for Heather and myself later in the week.
Hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying the nice weather.
Take care love Joxx

Hi all, I asked for it, didn't I? Anyway I think I am the oldest of you all - 80 next birthday. Where did all the years go to? I only feel my age when I have pain otherwise I am just the same laughing and talking non stop. Johan and I have been married 55 years. Johan is 86 (I thought he was 87). I'm always making silly mistakes. When we were 50 years married we had a party and I sent out the invitations saying we would be 50 years married, but we were in fact only 49. I told my daughter to keep quiet and nobody else realised. I have 1 son and 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren - a boy and a girl (now 28). I went out on my scootmobile today so have had my vitamine D today. Tomorrow Johan and I are going into town to the big market. I will take the taxi bus with my scootmobile and Johan will go by car. We will have coffee together and maybe lunch and then he will go to the library (where else?) and I will scout round the other shops. I have been making a lot of cards these last few days while I am still feeling ok. Enjoy the good weather girls, from me Sylvia xxx

Sylvia you certainly do not look or act your age and Johan, well I would never have thought of him being 86 doing all the things he does, you are both amazing. Sounds like you both are going to be busy tomorrow, enjoy your day and buy lots of crafting goodies!
Heather seems like we both got married at 19!! Still contrary to some peoples opinions (well in my case) at the time, we are still happily together. Weather wise a beautiful day lucky children being on school holiday they can have lots of fun for a change.
Thanks for the email Heather will send out tomorrow.
Have a good day tomorrow Joxx

Hi all, Can you believe it I have been so busy that had no time to write a few lines on this thread! What wonderful weather we are having it seems a pity to stay in, but then when I come in again I don't want to do anything, and that is the way things have been going on. Yesterday I had a really rotten day, so nothing was done. I thought I would put a new tap on my catheter before I went back to the urologist, but being the first time doing this I didn't really know everything about it and didn't open the piece where the urine flows away, resulting in horrible burning pain all day. Even the nurse convinced me I was ok and who am I to disagree with her, after all she knows all about these things! Anyway late afternoon I couldn't stand it any longer and asked Johan to have a look at it for me and he discovered the mistake. In no time I was cured. I was still tired this morning after having such a rotten day so took my time in having a shower and Johan got the breakfast. My hairdresser came at lunchtime and then I ventured out to the market. The sun was out and was quite warm and no wind, which we have of late been having. Now tomorrow is the official queen's birthday with festivities going on everywhere. When I came home this afternoon they were already marking their pitches for tomorrow, with some sleeping overnight on their pitch. They will be selling all their old things, even children are allowed to do this on this one day of the year. Usually the queen's birthday is cold and rainy, but it looks as though tomorrow it is going to be fine. I am not going out tomorrow and will enjoy a day at home. I noticed the tomato and cucumber seeds I planted in tubs on the balcony are now showing through and in my kitchen the parsley seeds are making progress. Now everybody I did watch a little bit of the royal wedding, but have it taped so will probably watch a bit more tomorrow. Kate really looked nice I think and behaved very naturally. I hope that Harry didn't go too wild this evening. Now see you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Evening Sylvia, glad that everything in the end turned out OK for you yesterday, what would you do without Johan!! Sounds like everyone will be having fun tomorrow for the Queens birthday, so you enjoy your day at home. As you say Catherine did look so elegant I loved her dress and also the bridesmaids dress. things did not look so formal as they have done before especially them leaving the reception driving himself with no security guard in the car, makes a change. House sitting at the moment at daughters looking after all her animals, have fed and watered the dogs, cats, hamsters and chickens and also watered the plants in her greenhouse and then had to water her raised beds as the rain that was forecast never appeared, still the sunshine was nice. Love Joxx

Hi all, Well Johan has just gone out on his walk (in my scootmobile) to celebrate the liberation from the Germans. We celebrate 11 November but here it is 4th May and tomorrow is Liberation Day. It used to be a universal holiday but they are getting away from that a bit now and some shops are open and others not. Always not knowing is difficult. My granddaughter Linda asked Johan whether she could go with him tonight and do the walk. I thought this rather sweet of her and glad they are just the two of them together which makes a change. The whether is fine albeit a nasty cold wind. I told Johan to put on a pair of long johns as he has to sit outside for the service, but................ he is not a little child and didn't listen so hope he will be ok. Jill, where are you? You seem to have been so quite of late. Perhaps you are counting sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now to put something in the oven ready for Johan and Linda when they get in. See y ou tomorrow. Sylvia xxx
