thank you

I am going to print the harcombe diet and then try to get going. i am moving out of my rented flat in the next week and then going to stay wilth friends in Norfolk and wait for OH to come over from Spainn with the car andthen we will drive back home....So i must remain resolute about what I eat...OH will want to have at least one Indian Restaurant meal and there is a fantastic Chinese retsaurant directly opposite our friends house so I must be careful.....

I will let you know how I get on this week

good luck everyone

Please, Please can I join or am I to late! I have lost about 1 and a !/2 stone in the last few weeks as i have had a realy bad attack of swine flu and I now am fully recovered I hope, will know on Monday when I see the doctor. People are noticing that I have lost weight!!
I do not really fancy anything but thought that joining this cyber club might help me.I am going to look at the Harcombe club and see what that is all about.
I have two weddings as well, one in May and one in June, it would be wonderful to be somewhat slimmer by then!!

Morning Ladies,

Im happy to say that I am back on track and lost 2.5lbs this week.

Its given me the push I needed to get back on track.

Tinky often when you have a big weight loss like you did the weight can stay the same the following week.
Keep with it and next week you will hopefully see a loss.

Tess I find that a smaller plate makes me eat less and still feel full up.
Good luck this week

Will be trying to loose some more weight this year.
Did loose some last year, put a little back on but didn't go back to my starting weight.
Now need to loose 15-20 lbs.
Will be trying to increase my physical activity slightlt.
Also cutting down a little on my portion sizes, while trying to choose the less fattening options.

Will let you know how I get on,

Tess

Morning all who are adding to this thread.
I went to see the diabetic dietician today, a regular appointment. Well I lost nearly 5 lbs since I saw her before Christmas. Something I haven't achieved in the months I have been seeing her. Think it was mainly as I had been ill, firstly with a sickness bug and then with a flu type virus.
So now I must stick with it and continue to drop even a pound a week would be good.

Good luck everyone else

Hi Joan,

I looked at the Harcombe diet, it is intresting especially as Government experts say we should eat more carbs.

I find the more carbohydrate I eat, especially bread and pasta, the more hungry I become.

I love Curry Joan,

I made a slimming world one last night using chicken, onion, garlic, chiken stock and spices.

My Father in Law said he would try it, he doesnt like curry, and ate it all.
After he said he thought it would be "hot"

Currys have a reputation of being hot rather than "spiced"

I will google Harcome diet now and have a read.

I've never heard of Zoe Harcombe, think I'll look her up.

I followed the Dukan diet for a while, the problem is i am no good at following any diets. I find it easier to exercise.

Joan your not being bossy. Lol

I need a firm hand when it comes to weight loss:)

I have tried the South beach diet before, it sound similar to the one you mention and cutting the carbs down does seem to work.

I am being very strict and wil log in when I can for moral support.

I missed last weeks class (sliming world) but must loose the 5.5lbs I put on or I will be out of my target weight and have to pay class fees!

Slimming world allows the member to set a target which I did, 10 stone 10lbs, but I would like to get at least another 3/4 of a stone off before we go on holiday in May

Hi Island
I too watched the BBC programme last night and found it really interesting. I was surprised by some of the findings, the fats found around the kidneys, the low fat dairy products helping to get rid of fats too.
Lots we know already if we are honest.
But I still don't understand how it seems 2 people can eat similar foods - one is slim -manother can be overweight.

Yes do watch if you haven't seen it yet

Well done Tinky, thats brilliant.

My week didnt go as well as planned(:

I will have to miss slimming class tonight because it clashes with the PTA meeting. Its the AGM and I cant miss it as Im on the commitee.

How did you manage to loose the 5lb?

Can you let us know what you did or didnt eat so I can go back next week, get on the scales and have a smile on my face.

On the plus side there are no Christmas goodies left to eat and we are on a food economy drive at the mo as it is a 5 week month till pay day!

The tribe are all back to School, Uni and work here so I am going to get cracking on the eating and exercise plan.
