Yehhh...thats sounds more promising AnnGG that you could well be coming:o)

Yes we had a lovely day thanks, sister said after 'well that was most enjoyable' or words to that effect, l might and get her to come to meet aswell:o)

We still have loads of time, so l might persuade Vic to take me there for a sandwich sometime soon:o)
The chef said it was'nt that new, but l don't think its been there very long!

Sister and l went to the Elephant Pump, absolutely gorgeous toasted cheese sandwich with lovely salad and coffee, reasonable too:o))

l bought 3 little jugs from the indoor market, some lovely bits and pieces in there, even our dear little elderly flower seller lady from Monmouth:o))
See yeh

Jude, that sounds great, as long as it's clean and the food is OK, then
great.

I didn't know anything about the place or the food, so like Sandie, I couldn't comment on it either.

Did you and your sister enjoy your day out in Aber? Hope you both did.

Thanks for doing that Jude,

Love, Sallie.xx

Jude~~~

Read on the Welsh thread you've been to the Auberge in Aber, none of my rellies have eaten there... so can't comment on the food.
It used to be the Herefordshire House , which obviously been renovated, it's quoted on Google as a Classy day time bar, as yet no one has put any ratings on their site, presumably cos it's fairly new.

Hope you had a nice day out:)

Evening all:o)

Shaun...that would be great in the summer, but not somewhere where we have to walk or climb, some of us oldies would'nt manage it...lol

Jean....well one can hope...lol

Ok....hows about the Auberg then, we visited it this afternoon and it appears to be just what we want, loads of space, clean and a good selection of nosh:o))

Shaun~~

Whilst that would be a lovely idea in the summer months, bit cold this time of yr.. it would also save on the price of alcoholic drinks.. if you wish to get stoned that is .lol I assume the magic mushrooms are around all yr on the Bluff.
( Shaun's 'local delicacy' , for those unaware of the area)

or were you going to tempt us with some lamb(sheep) cooked Greek style, braised in a metal pot outdoors..Kleftiko, tried it in Corfu ,superb:)

I will do my very best to be there!!

The Greyhound is really just an eating place rather than a pub, albeit and excellent eating place - best food in Abergavenny

Jude~~

Just spoke to my cousin re Weatherspoons in Aber, he said it was cheap and cheerful. Couldn't comment on the food doesn't eat there.
Never been there myself but they usually are well run.
We have 2 locally, one in town and the other about 4 miles away and they are both fine for food. Son goes to the one 4 miles away and he and his friends are always happy with their meals.

Hi Jude,

Yes that date is fine with me. Looking forward to meeting you all.

By then the weather should be fairly good, thank goodness, it's really cold here in Derbyshire today.
