RIGHT............... here we go again!
I was typing an answer to yo all, and EVEN MY $%^&* POOTER FROZE!

Hi Jane, we have loads of snow in Corby today.
It has been freezing for days and days, but we have had a few bits of snow; however, last night the weather forecast was pretty bad..and it was freezing.
Son phoned up and told us to make a list of EVERYTHING we would need if we were snowed in!
What a boy... but we are so lucky to have him. He went to Asda and bought us enough essentials to last us until February... ha ha ha
The side roads are particularly hazardous as they are not being gritted. Even those who do salt their paths cannot afford to do the whole street.

Watching on the news, we can see that some places are in a real state.
My sister-in-law & family in Lanarkshire must be having FUN,FUN,FUN!

Margaret Rose.... even a sprinkling of snow in this weather can be very dangerous, so be careful. It may freeze up and catch you out.

To all of you.... take care, stay warm, and get in that kitchen and make a big pot of soup....... ;-0)

Deanna X
very cold, but enjoying the *lock-up* ;-0)

Exmouth in Devon,3pm on Tuesday. Very cold with some ice around ,no snow but some cars are appearing in the town with snow on their bonnets so probably come from Exeter way or the moors.

2.40 pm Tuesday

Very cold here in South West Scotland but luckily not too much snow - a light sprinkling last night on top of the 3/4 inch left from Friday night.

Schools closed - St Andrew's Day Holiday (well, 3 days actually)

All our main roads have been gritted and so (for the first time ever) our lane and the hill up to the church (there is a grit bin not at the top or bottom but half way up this hill!)

Keep warm everybody and take care outside.

That's a lot of snow Anina. What is Sheffield city centre like? My son works there and lives in Elsecar and I've not been able to get hold of him. Knowing him he is working from home, wtrapped in a duvet ... I hope.

Here in Southampton very cold, -1 daytime, no snow until today, very light fluttering of flakes, not settling. We dont often get snow here being so close to the coast and sheltered by Isle of Wight, so would like to see a little bit :) but of course realise to many it is an unwelcome inconvenience.
Am looking after the birds in my garden with fat balls, nuts, mixed seed , and niger seed for goldfinches and bird baths.:) They dont seem to mind having a bath at - temperatures.!!
End of forecast.!!!!

Margaret Rose, bless your husband and other workers who try to keep us going when the weather is bad.

Here we have a burst pipe on the outside tap, despite lagging and taking every precaution so take care. OH at the moment trying to fix it. and he is not the best at plumbing jobs so will just go and find the plumbers number in case.....
