Sister-in-law phoned late last night to say my brother has been going through quite a few test and they have now connected him to a food drip and they are now not going to operate till they have another meeting on Tuesday, l really can't understand why they are delaying the op !!!!!
They have also now been told that they are 99% sure it is cancer but we are going to stay strong and l know my brother will fight it all the way, l just hope they can make him pain free as he really has been in a lot of pain the last few months.

Still waiting for Tuesday so will should know then when they are going to operate.
Spoke to sister-in -law a few minutes ago and she said my brother is sleeping a lot now but is having pain relief so thats one good thing.

Oh Mummo, sorry I didn't see your thread until now. I'm really sorry to hear about Eddie.

It just seems that you have one trouble after another this year, I hope it will all be sorted out sooner rather than later for you all.

I hope that all goes well on Tuesday, and that you and Eddie will get some good and positive news.

Hope your brother is comfortable and will have news on Tuesday of what is to happen, he and all of you must be fed up with waiting for info, and now you have Eddie to worry about too, you must be exhausted.

Hi, my brothers operation is scheduled for tomorrow, they have told him its going to be a major op and when the open him up to remove the cancer there is a chance they might have to remove a kidney as they think the cancer has attached to it, also he will have to have a colostomy bag and then he will have to have chemo after.
I am just praying that everything goes ok.

Well, Mummo, lotsof people survive with only one kidney. As to the cancer, its a belt and braces approach to try and be certain they have caught it all. The success rate for these ops is pretty good. Aman in his 50's in my street had similar three years ago, and may find he has to go back towork under the new govmt initiatives.

Good luck to your brother for the op, I hope he will be ok afterwards to start on the chemo and fight back.
