Hi Dee, i totally agree with everything you say. It is bound to cause more duplicate postings as has been the case on there today. Perhaps the volunteers should not have volunteered!! lol

Janey, I know it is a forlorn hope that 'they' might take notice. But why don' you make that point about time of day to the powers that be. I have contacted them with my thoughts on the changes. Especially don't like the time I waste having to make each thread individually go to last post first. Why wont they listen.

Well I can see its going to cause a segregation between helpers who gel and rub off on each others findings.

A bunch of regulars on the help boards turned down the xbribex offer to become "official" whatever they ares. And I think most of us think the whole idea sucks.

No, nobody else can post there -- only the person asking the question and the starry ones.

And somebody thinks this isn't going to result in massive duplication? I know that if I didn't get a reply on the regular boards, I'd sure be going to these experts for help. In fact, I'm thinking of doing just that with a couple of elusive ancestors ...

And yes, I want time of day back. I'm over here in the outer western darkness, and the only way I can keep myself somewhat oriented to things going on in GMT is to see the times.

I think the threads in the clinic are all there to make a point. I help to search for those elusive ancestors too and many of us help each other and bounce things of each other when searching.... not being able to do this will certainly hinder the search.

There is going to be 10 official advisors compared too possibly 100 unofficial advisors... so I would say that although the starry peeps are good at what they do ( I have helped with them before) the odds of sorting these problems out have been significantly hindered by GR............. how many newbies are going to post elsewhere on the boards and not realise that we unofficial helpers are just as able to help them?

Yes I too preferred the correct time of posting. This suggests they don't trust their clock.

Was testing. If you delete a post it goes away.
At least with the deleted bits left you could see that a reply was made to the person who deleted....if you know what i mean .
