Making an example of me! ;) Do you know, I actually have no clue what my membership number is, but I assume that's the right one.

I think the "new" refers to the fact that the URL you're seeing is actually the link for sending a message. So it's the link for sending a "new message".

Hey, that's my guess.

What I'd love is if the link for a username actually took one to the user's profile, as is the case for any normal website.

It would show date joined and basic info if a user wanted to give it: location (could be very general), number of posts, interests and such.


What I do note is that nothing's being done about privacy/security yet. I've been giving them some grace time before starting in on that.

Ice-Ice...............hadn't noticed the 'new' bit when you hover the mouse until you mentioned it, but if you look at the numbers before that, it is the membership number...well. I think it is...try it on Janey's posts as she has several on this page.

Yup. I posted, and the url for this page is now

You can't go to any other page number from that.

For instance, if I click on page 5, the url for that link is

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/chat/thread/1249325?jump=7356131&page=4

And that just reloads the page I'm on.

If I change it manually in my address bar to

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/chat/thread/1249325?&page=4

then it works and I get page 5.

How difficult is it for a tech person to figure this out ... and FIX IT?


Of course, now that I am editing this post, I will get sent back to page 1 ...

And yes, when I edited, I got sent back to page 1. At least the url wasn't "jump" anymore so the page number links work.

At this point, the complaints have nothing to do with "changes", they have to do with non-functionality. Maybe they've figured that out now.

When I submit this post, will I get sent to page 1, to a "jump" url (it refers to the actual post number and not just the thread number) from which I cannot exit (the page number links in the row of numbers don't work then), to the Katzenjammer "surname board", or the moon??

Why didnt they run a ghost site to make the changes and leave the existing site running until they had ironed out the blips?

Actually, no requests in the Clinic have been successful. In Slartibartfast's case, one of the starry people added the success mark just because there was a reply post. No solution. In the other, I think Irene checked her own post, not sure why. ;) If someone else starred it, it shouldn't be, because it's just a theory, not a solution.

Susan, I really don't want a star. the incentive was not good enough for me (well to be honest I wasn't asked lol) . See only two request seem to have been successful.

a clinic room,!!!,,,,,,,all thats going to be posted is past brick walls that couldnt be found an answer to,,unwise members will venture on there expecting its a new set up with a new set of people who have a magic wand and will supply what hasnt been found before,,,,,,,,then they will get kicked up the ** and ridiculed for posting the same stuff again what they aleady have threads about on various boards,,,as has happended.


Dont think the site has got it 100% they are still working on it,,it happens everytime they do a refit....
