Hi Allan,

I was a regular visitor to the library when younger and always
took books out on the subject. Any TV programmes on Egypt,
archaeology and I'm there, so interesting imho.

Keep baking Allan my OH loves cooking.

Hi Emma,

Not a talent, but I do enjoy it.

I've had a deep interset in Egyyptology ever since visiting the Manchester Museum, which had (has) a very large display. I lived just down the road from the museum and as a child used to go there frequently. It was fantastic.

All the kids from the street would go there as a change from the park!

Good morning all from a quite nice day in Aberdeen.
Barbra have always been interested in Egyptology(sp)
since I was very young(many moons ago) and think
that was one of the reasons I started looking for my
ancestors.Like you and others have family all over the
world who left Scotland for one reason or another, have
a few from Ireland but not much progress in getting info
on them.
Allan baking, another of your talents.
HAGU.

Hi Barbra,

Sometimes living in the past is a bit better than living in the present.

yesteryears our ancestors just accepted their lot and made the most of it. Could we do the same?

Good Morning dolly emma .Allan Thea Baker.~~~~~~~~To all a bright day just now . Hope you got your kitchen ware Dolly x watched a prog last night about irish history / it was so interesting ,when you think if you are trying to trace ancesters .from 1800 the termoil & famine . its no wonder it is very hard to trace people .with people leaving & emigrating .our ancesters went all over America .south Africa .my son says Mum dont live in the past .but a lot of people look for ancesters¬ Should imagine its one of the most popular pastimes ..we are so lucky today . cant imagine there way of life . way back then .what would they make of today .supermarkets .cars .our way of life now . right off now have a good day Barbra xx

Hello all,

it is really nice hearing about everyones's gardens etc. OH planted some broad beans and some peas today as we are now coming up for our winter which is still relatively warm.

OH also sowed some coriander seeds. I have tried to grow this over several years, without success

Last year we were able to freeze a few packs of broad beans. Hopefully the same this year.

I made some bread buns today, all done by hand

Morning barbra and everyone,

I hope everyone is ok?

We have had a lot of rain over night and this morning, we could really do with it except I am going out this morning to meet a friend and I'd rather it didn't rain on me.

Take care all

Morning Barbra and everyone,

Weather here today is dull, overcast and windy with a spot or 2 of rain in the air.
Son and hubby are in the garden trying to sort our sons leaking rad to his car, without too much success at this time :-(
I am supposed to be going into town to buy some new canisters for my tea, coffee and sugar, I had metal ones before and have been planning to change them for a while, hubby in his wisdom yesterday emptied the sugar one and melted it in his new furnace he made for melting metal! so I am one canister short, so that does deserve a trip into town to buy new with a matching bread bin :-) and anything else I want to get, hubby doesn't say no but I must not go overboard as he is talking of doing our bedroom out with all new furniture, we have managed all our married life with second hand bedroom furniture bar the bed which was new, so it will be a joy to plan our new room, I can't wait!! :-)

It's really quite hotr here in the back garden, I've let my hens out for a run around, I am hoping they won't eat anything I am growing in my pots or I won't be pleased lol.
